I got the idea after doing some chops of the buddyclub2 kit on the 1g (in a different thread), and decided that the buddy club 2 kit would look much better as a lip as opposed to a complete front bumper (IMHO). I was wondering how hard it would be to actually fabricate one from a buddyclub2 kit, grafting my OEM bumper and the BC2 kit together. I don't want to ruin two front bumpers.

Thanks... you're making me blush OMG .. but anyways, yeah, I'm an animator/concept artist so I'm kinda sorta getting paid for it. I'd prefer to design body kits, but working for video game companies are fun too. However, when you get home, you really don't wanna be playing video games.

Well, I guess where you live would have a lot to do with it... a lot of game companies (like Blizzard, Obsidion Entertainment, Electronic Arts... etc) are right around here (orang county/LA california). Just have a strong demo reel with all your 3d modeling, digital painting, and texture work... You MUST be able to render in high and low poly counts, as well as make good use of texturing so that you can "mask" inperfections and create the illusion of more detail. Let's just say, that if you can't model and concept as well as the guys who did unreal tournament... you should look into a different career route. That's the MINIMUM skill level you can have, given how many amazing artists there are out there. Just look at DOOM3, or any of the games out now.

Anyhow, if you ever plan on moving out here, you can hit me up, and possibly even share a room where I live (depending on how cool you are of course). Or even if you just wanna visit, I'll be happy to introduce you to some of the EA guys, and a few of the Obsidion Entertainment guys, I'll even introduce you to one of the artist/modelers for Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II.

Also, yes, I did go to school for it (and still am). Working towards a Bachelors in Media Arts/Animation.

screw him, im coming down. I wanna meet the guys from blizzard and congradulate them for making me waste 4 years of my life on Diablo 2: LOD. :p

First of all that looks insane... I like the bc2 kit but I like the OEM fishmouth better because it looks far more aggressive. the mixing of lines in you chop is great. :thumb:

I don't know if it is possible though because of the materials (fiberglass and urethane) but I could be wrong about the possibility of it being done. I really don't think it would be stable though and after a drop, it may be extremely close to the ground.

thatd be awesome....yea that makes sense that unreal would be the minimum....i would be out there in a heart beat but im pretty deep in my current career of Electrical Engineering and id have to go to school another 4 years or so to make it out there...would be amazing though. How old are you? and what kinda salary do you guys make?...if I were doin somthin like that I wouldnt care about the salary as much but going from a 70,000 dollar a year starting pay to like 30,000 might not be so fun

Well, the standard video game guys don't make much (around 40k), it's the movie guys that make a lot (Pixar, ILM). I don't mind at all though, I love what I do so the money is just an added bonus. :D

Nice Photoshop. I'm a PS pro too.. although, not in the game industry..

But yeah, that looks really good, but I can't see it lasting too long on the street without breaking.

I think the only way to make this work, is to make a "mold" of the prototype (OEM molded with BC2) and create a full fiberglass or eurathane bumper. Anyone here pro at it and wanna go into business with me? :p Perhaps we can get together and create a DSMTUNERS kit (well, just the front more or less). Call Ludachris! haha

the front bumper looks very nice ... the only way to make the car look good overall though is to get lower hanging sideskirts at least and possibly a rear lip as well. I always think it looks horrible when the front bumper hangs down significantly lower than the rest of the car
