Hello just another question. I have a 1990 Eagle Talon awd tsi. I think one of my rotors might be shot i get lots of brake pedal shake when i apply them going at highway speeds like 60+. I was thinking of upgrading since the car is pretty fast now, or will be once i get it tuned/fmic by victor racing in East Hartford CT, can't wait :D but anyways i don't want to go crazy and i was thinken just braided brake hose kit and some better pads. If i want to go crazy I've been reading on the forum is that slotted not drilled is the way to go. I don't think i want to go that far. If it true that the rotors are bigger in 1992.5- 1999 and have two piston calibers. If so will they fit on my 1990? What modification will be necessary? Does anyone sell a kit of the parts i do need to modify anything? Also i was thinken about ether pads from hawk or the green stuff pads, any opinion on ether? Any body running ether? What about a good place to get the brake lines? i was thinking R&R enginering. Thanks for the answers i know there are quiet a few in here. Lots of help thanks

Mine do that allllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll the time and it actually scared the crap out of me. My back brakes need to be down. My dad took my car one day to get the front's done last year and I gave him a list of stuff to get, I was going to get a Mitsubishi Big Rotor kit, and they put on the stock Mitsubishi ones and charged me 500 dollars....JUST FOR FRONTS!!!!!! W.e, he paid for them, he shat the brick not me. well, the brakes def. need to be replace. I'm not too familiar with the 1 Gen talons, I know the 99 GST/GSX have dual piston in the fronts. But if it does work on your car, I would def. Consider doing the swap.
If you find out, def. hit me up with the answer, more knowledge is more power!!! .....I'm in a engineering lecture, I'm bored as "H E Double hockey sticks...."<---see, ### joke...
As for routers, this is my story.....

I went to a bunch of forums and a couple threads mentioned if cross drills or slotted even matter on brakes. It was said that brake pads these days are pretty good. But I mentioned to them that the point of having them slotted is the fact the pad gives off heat and the slots dissapate the heat away from the brakes....but they kept arguing. Well I actually called a couple company's on a boring rainy day and they said its actually best that after a couple of days with the cross slotted to actually use brake cleaner to get rid of the junk, just something to keep in mind.....a FYI

There is a great write up on doing a "big brake" swap on the VFAQ site. The parts are all bolt-on so it makes it easy. The parts you need can be found on -
Any 1993+ DSM AWD, 1991+ non-turbo stealth / 3000GT or 1992-1996 Diamante

So getting the parts you need should be easy and with any luck won't cost you an arm and a leg.

If you decide against doing the swap, a good set of pads, some new rotors, and replacing the old lines would probably be a real noticeable difference for you.
Whether you get braided lines or not, you should at least replace the old rubber lines with new ones while your at it.

Also make sure you get a good pad and read feedback on different pads as much as you can. Different types/brands of pads can be more/less harsh on the rotor. You wouldn't want all your hard work to end up getting you another set of warped rotors from installing pads that are known to be hard on rotors. I run NAPA Ceramix on my 300M and they have been great for me so far, and no warped rotors (which a lot of Chrysler products are notorious for).
Have not done anything with the brakes on my DSM yet, but I will go with the Ceramix pads and new rotors and lines when that day comes.

Good luck!
