BOV is pissing me off

Ok ive searched and havent found anything really about what im about to ask. So far searching ive found out that all 1g bov leak at idle. well i can hear a hissing if i put my ear to the top of the BOV. now if i move the throttle with my hand and keep my ear to the bov i can hear a click. and the hissing stops. that would be the diaphram sealing stopping the leak or is it something else. Im slowy trying to find a mystery either vac leak or broken item that uses vac to work. yea i know boost leak test but im waiting for my tester if you can call it that to be shipped. in the mean time im trying to find out why my car wont idle when hot and only sometimes. also i kno its a DSM. But when its cold start it will idle fine. im i drive a mile it will idle fine, if i drive for a few miles sometime it will idle fine for about a 60seconds but then the vac gauge*stock one* its not accurate but its all i have right now, it starts to bob around. -7 to around -3 then past -7 then back to -7 and the idle will flutter between 300-900 and the car seems like it missfires and it will stall sometimes or it will save it self or ill save it with a quick tap of the gas and then the light will turn green and ill go for another block stop and it wont do it. then ill go and it will just stall at the next light and no idle unless i give it gas. no much just enough for like 1100 rpms. and sometimes all together it will just idle fine. or if im home and letting the car cool down it will idle fine then start to freak out then ill just hold the gas at 1200rpms for a minute then let it idle its fine for 10+minutes while i poke around the engine bay then shut it off. I'm stumped, by dsm buddy is stumped i can only assume i have a nasty vac leak somewhere that magicly fixes itself or the bov is the cause or the EGR is sticking open or w/e, i took the silencer out of the maf and have a k&N straped to the maf no can at all. thats it, the car besides that is stock. i just got it. Newbie question or w/e you want to call it. this is my frist dsm and i work in circles with this damn thing. i cam from vw's i thought they were problem prone and a pain in the ass to work on. i do love this car thou. so any help would be greatly valued and please save the try searching and other crap don't waste your time or mine.
 
im reading about the IAC and testing it with a volt meter. Im going to try that once ive read everything about it. Ive been searching every free moment i have. Peopl e say that is a problem with high idle. like it bounceing up to 1500. Mine never bounces above stock idle but im not going to rule it out. Im not going straight for that because of the possable vac leak. Unless if the IAC is causeing the Vac to bounce around while it tries to make it idle! the more i think the more things i find that could be causeing it. it has new plugs, new alternator,new battery, new filter K&N.
 
yea im came to that conclusion after some more reading. im taking a day and taking off the IAC and cleaning it then going to test it. Im waiting for the ups guy to drop off my boost gauge and pod, hopefuly that will aid in finding the problem.
 
Just as defiant said, the BOV is suposed to stay open during idle. Even with my big Greddy RS it stays open at idle. It's because the vaccuum on the top of the diaphram pulls as the turbo pressure pushes.
 
yea, im getting my boost leak tester next week. i gotta track this stuff down driving around is getting bad i pull up to a stop light and the damn thing stalls. i can't figure it out.
