I have been searching and I can't find the answers I am looking for. Maybe I am using the wrong search criteria.
Anyways, I have a spun rod bearings in a gst spyder I am working on due to oil starvation from the pan being dented in pretty bad. This is a virgin car and will remain that way, so factory boost from the t-25 is all it will ever see. I was considering putting a n/a 2.4 block in it to replace the bad 2.0 it currently has. Btw this car is also an auto and I will be using the dohc head on the block.
My questions are:
1. Will the n/a 2.4 internals hold up to stock t-25 boost?
2. Will the stock ecu/fuel system be able to compansate for the extra displacement without any tuning?
3. Should I get a thicker head gasket to lower the CR?
Like I said it is just something I am considering. I think the extra displacement would really help the slush box transmission it has. I just wont spend the money to build the 2.4 for a car that will always remain stock. Good 2.4's are a lot easier to find than a good 7 bolt and they are much cheaper. Also I am well aware of what is needed to install a 2.4 block in a Dsm. (I have one in my fun Dsm)
