hello I just purchased the bomex bodykit from aftermarket kits.com i was wondering whats involved when installing a bodykit on a 95 eclipse gst i know about the conversion to 97-99 i purchased the reverse lights and headlights i just need to know how hard it is to do it yourself any sugestions, opinions ,tips throw them at me thanks...

A common rule in installing body kits is as follows -

"If your asking how hard it is to install or if you will be able to do it, you most likly dont have the knowledge to do so, and should have a shop do it."

as far as tips, if your not sure your going to be able to do it, have a shop do it. unless the kit doesnt fit at all, its basically like taking off your front bumper and reinstalling it.

good luck :thumb:

Ok bro,
its very simple, bomex is a good company for 2g eclipse. just take your stock bumpers off and replace them with the new ones. you will probably only have to do miner drilling. be carefull not to over tighten the new pieces, it will crack them. the side skirts should need a miner shave in spots, but just fit them and put them on with self tapping 7mm screws, or have a shop do it. :dsm:

thanks for your reply turbo you were alot of help im glad to hear that bomex is a good kit for the ecklipse .. so basically i can install everything but the sideskirts and basically should have them put on by a professional?

Hey Midknightkilpse, I just ordered a body kit from aftermarketkits.com, it's still in the mail. How is the quality of the kit? How does it look so far?

sup man I just ordered my kit also it should be here in a week cant wait!!! I have heard good thinks about aftermarketkits.com i know there prices are pretty good .. i was going to order from redlineautosalon.com they have 20 dollar shipping right now but there shipping is 3 to 4 weeks aposed to 4-7 day truck so i think aftermarketkits has them beat on shipping and quality of the kits . let me know how the kit fits as i will also my email is [email protected] ... seee ya bro good luck on your install.

good im glad u have heard things 2 . spending 530.00 on my bomex kit wasnt bad for the price but i was mainly concernced with quality i know one thing tho I dont think there going to be ebay quality i have heard that ebay kits are bad newz so i think we made the right decision.. but I have alot of work to do cause i also ordered my projectors and z3 fenders .. another good site is http://www.autoaccessorystore.com for z3 fenders there shipping is cheap.. and they ship pretty quick... but i guess ill just wait for the kit and let u know bro.... peace

I'll check that out. What type of car do you have and what kit did you order? I ordered the Blitz kit for my 94 Eclipse, I think it looks very nice. I can't wait to get it on my ride.

I had gotten one of those Ebay deals and yes they fit terrible. The front bumper was good, the side skirts where a little tight and needed some modifying. The rear bumper wasn't even close to bolting up to the car. I had a lot of modifying to get it on the car. I ended up molding the skirts and rear bumper in to the body of the car to get the body lines to match after several relief cuts and reglassing was performed. It looks perfect now, but I spent ruffly 8 hours per skirt and 12 hours on the rear bumper.

My suggestion, if you haven't done autobody before then have someone else do it!
