ok so my 97 tsi has a blown turbo, known for sure cause oil in intake and burns oil underboost, but i was wondering if it could also be the cause of my smoke at idle..it doesnt smoke when i start it up like valve seals would..just tryin to get some input..thanks

Ok first valve seals dont cause smoke at startup. If you let the car idle for a while and then it starts smoking that would be your problem. I have replaced blown T25's too many times and I would say 5 of the cars had 1 to 2 quarts of oil in the exhaust. But, thats not every T25. If you know that your turbo is blown replace it. I actually have had to put an oil drain pan under the exhaust tip on those cars!
