I was driving home from work Thursday night and pulled into my driveway and my car jerked to the right violently and slid to a stop.I tried to put it in park to get out of the car but the tranny just made a grinding sound. I got out of the car and my drivers side balljoint broke and pulled my cv joint apart.I replaced the balljoint and cv joint but the car acts like its in neutral in any gear. This is my DD so any help would be apprieciated. This is my first automatic DSM so I'm clueless. Thanx:

check your motor mounts? shift linkage for things in the way? did your shifter cables slip out of the holders? did your clutch line get broke or cut?

I checked everything! When you put it in drive or reverse and give it gas it sounds like its spinning. The transfer case is fine, just rebuilt 4k ago.You can put the car in any gear and push it around like its in neutral.I'm going to remove transmission pan tonight to see if there's anything in there.

Actually I bought a new cv joint but I haven't put it in yet.The jackshaft and the cv joint section that goes into the jackshaft is still in the car, nothing connected to wheel, would that matter?

Well I guess I'll try putting in the new cv joint this weekend. I thought since it's awd it would still move.
