Hey guys .... just got a vr4 a few days ago, and I installed a autometer boost gauge.. when I first put it in, it seemed accurate, sitting at 10psi.. then, I added a mbc, and set it to 14psi according to the gauge.. had some trouble with the mbc, so I returned it to stock, but removing the little restrictor in the stock boost solenoid (same mod as available to the dsm) and boost went to 6psi! put the restrictor back in, and same.. 6psi. changed gauges to a blitz and it reads about .65bar (~9.5psi) which would be a better reading, considering I am using the stock 10psi boost solenoid. However, with the autometer gauge, with the key off, it is sitting at 0, and i am pulling -15hg vacuum at idle and -20 at cruise. with the blitz, with the key off, it is at about .2bar, and idle vacuum is -.3 of whatever the measurement is on a bar gauge and -.5 at cruise.. so, it seems as though the blitz might be miscalibrated, considering it doesnt sit a 0 w/ the key off.. but, seems more accurate boost reading, considering it is closest to the stock 10psi setting. and the car feels too fast to be at 6psi.. but I just don't know!!!!
there are no leaks in the line, no kinks in the hoses..
any ideas!!??
