Alright, So here is the deal. Tranny has been acting up real bad lately. When I move the gear selector between gears it jerks the car pretty good, but my main problem is that when i come to a stop sign, or light, when the car tries to downshift it slams into the lowest gear. There is a loud pop as it slams and jerks the car terribly. Don't know much about autos. Trying to get the car all fixed up so i can sell it and get my GSX.

My car sometimes does that too. When I'm slowing down or stopping at a light, it will downshift hard and make a "clank" noise. I don't know what the problem is but I think it might be a bad connection somewhere in the transmission to the TCU. So instead of downshifting regular the computer might decrease line pressure and then downshift, thus sounding like that. I don't know? Awhile back my car lost all gears and only had one gear. This is called "limp" mode. The day I was going to change out the TCU, it stoped doing and worked fine. I do have a shift and better clutches that I purchased when I first got the car. About 5 years ago. I'll be sure to let you know if I figure something out.

I do not have a shift kit installed, but it sounds exactly like what pbwu1f is saying. Anyways i dropped the tranny pan last night changed the filter and but some B&M trickshift in there and so far it feels a lot better hasn't slammed down at a light or stop sign yet so we will see.

well im hoping that changing the fluid and filter is all that it needed. So far so good. When I dropped the pan there was not a lot of metal shavings on the magnets but there were a little. anyways I guess i will find out if it goes out soon.

Probably not the entire problem but there is an adjustment for the throttle pedal that will affect downshifts. IIRC its a phillips head and the connector should read 0 volts at dead pedal. I'll have to check all data when i get a chance.
