apexi dp problem/question

i installed my dp and the tab near the top that connects to the car does not align so i didnt put it in. is it ok to leave it? example:

and i think the stock outlet is 2", it looks like it, and the top of the dp is 2.5 im suppose to use the stock gasket correct?

I just recently installed a complete apexi n1 exhaust system on my car it being a GSX it might be different .. i dont remember a little tab like that but im sure it woud be fine as long as it's not loose.. or look like its hangin there make sure everthing is tight.

That tab is just a little extra support. It's there so not all the weight of your turbo, O2 housing, and DP is hanging off your manifold. I got rid of mine as well when I installed my DP. I don't know anything about tubular manifolds, but the stock cast manifold will hold just fine. I've been running about a year without any problems.
