My factory power antenna is stuck up and i don't like the way it looks, can i push/mash it back in. I don't listen to the radio so the signal being bad won't bother me.

Thanks

There is a plastic cable that is inside the antenna which is used to push the antenna up and pull it down. Your cable broke probably from old age. Yes you can smash it down, just have to be careful. Or better way is to take the antenna apart and rip out the cable so you can push it down easier if the first way doesn't work.

When mine broke the antenna actually fell back down into the car by itself with no need to push it down. It's possibly a fuse/wiring problem or your power motor just crapped out on ya. Does the antenna motor make any noise when you turn your radio on or off?

It was freezing the other night when I relized it was stuck. I can hear the motor running when I turn the radio on. It runs for a min then stops, when I turn the car off I hear the same thing. I didn't mash it in yet cause it was raining yesterday.

Spray it with WD-40 and gently push it back down. WD-40 was origionally developed as a water-proofer. It will not only give the antenna some lubricant but it will keep moisture from getting in and freezing.

How warm has it been? Even though the rain should have thawed it out, I remember mine staying frozen for days after the ambient temp got above freezing, then eventually thawing. I guess you do have to retract the mast before you can take it out and disassemble it. Try "helping" it down while the antenna motor is running, trying to retract it. Use a helper, or just stick your hand in the window and turn the key "off".

I tried to push it down while the motor was running in the down direction and still nothing. I'm almost ready to mash it down and when I can replace it with a stubby one or a window mount one.
