I recently joined this site and though I may be new to this site and it's forums I am no where new to the DSMs. I love these cars. My daily is a 90 Laser RS 2.0 nt, my project is a 92 Eclipse GS that is getting a turbo kit from CXRacing. I also have 2 more for parts a 92 Eclipse GS 2.0 nt auto trans and last but not least a 92 Laser 1.8 manual. I have loved these cars from the start and am a member on several of the forums. One of them it seems that I am the only one that knows whats going on from a stock prospective. I also own a machine shop where I rebuild antique engines for vintage type cars from 1885 to 1935. I am looking forward to interacting with many of you. Especially in the tuner aspect.

Welcome, glad to see someone else has a stock perspective. I have had 3 1g Turbo AWDs and only one of them was modded. That was my 92. Let us know how that cx racing kit turns out.

CX aparently has all the parts for making a non turbo into one. I have been doing some research on the block oilers and not to sure about really needing them. This car is going to be the tuner that I have always wanted to build. Everything on it will be brought back and slicked out. I will be pulling the engine and refreshing it, probly just new rings and bearings and a balance eliminator kit. These blocks are hard as the hubs of hell, my 90 has 320k miles and about .001 of wear in the cylinders, doesn't use any oil and will still go over 100 if I ask her too but the last time I got nailed. She (Tilly) is just as bone stock as she was when she came from the factory. Not saying that I haven't done my share of broken timing belts and various parts to replace like alternators and starters, axles and once the transistor. After working on them for 17 years I don't have to refer back to the book for too much and I have had 3 of those.
One thing that I am looking for on this group is interaction on a decent scale, the other forum I mentioned I think is one of the first ones that the new inductees to DSMs go to wanting to do this mod or that mod and I just don't know much about bolt ons but I do know ways to make the power come from internal mods and machining which I think is way over thier heads. I worked for a large engine remanufacturer in Spokane for a number of years as the house journeyman machinist and now out on my own.
