Mods are in profile, havent did the 550's or safc yet. pulled a 3rd gear run to redline. Coolant temp was 213 degrees. Is this too hot at WOT. I know it will start to pull timing at 206. Also intake temp was 91 degrees. I think that was ok though. Some input or where to find this. I tried to do a search and couldnt find anything.

Looks like your stil running the stock SMIC? If so that does seem to be abit high, not dangerously high but like you said, 1 deg of timing is pulled over 206. Before my FMIC I used to run a constant 196 while cruising. When you measured this temp had you been sitting stopped for awhile? If so that is normal. Now I am usually sitting 206-210 with the fmic on cruise/boost but would like to get it back down under 200. First going to try a lower temp thermostat (180 F), which I don't think will do much then upgrade to a Koyo aluminum rad.

Wasn't commenting on the air inlet temp but yes that is hotter then you want, of course depending on the outside temp that day sometimes there is nothing you can do about that. I believe 87 and up inlet temps also lose 1 deg of timing, if you don't have a heat shield around your filter, make one, they defently make a difference. Pretty sure the factory 2g T stat is 195, but could be wrong.

I had called Mitsubishi this morning and they said the 2G's are 180 F and the 1G are 195 F. I have been looking into doing a heat shield. It was probally 90 F outside when I made the pull. Im flushing the system tomorow and adding a bottle of water wetter. Hopefully that will help some.

Water Wetter will not lower your coolent temp. That is not what it is made for. It is designed to reduce hot spots in your cylinder head.

It actually does lower water temps. I use the stuff in my go-karts and it will actually lower the temps anywhere from 10 - 20 degrees just from adding the stuff. I tried it once without and once with the same day. I am also running straight water mixed with wetter water so that might be differant than running water, antifreeze and wetter water.

I'm glad you think it helped you, but science doesn't lie. Water wetter actually should raise your coolant temps by a degree or so. It lowers the thermal capacity of the water allowing less heat transfer.

Great for hotspots/corrosion andwhatver else, but not designed or intened nor produces lower coolant temps.
