Okay, so I was all hyped thinking my car was finally set up decently and I didn't need any more important fuel mods. But no... I set my Aeromotive AFPR to 43.5 or so with the vacuum source disconnected and all seemed well. But one morning I go to get into the car and the idle is rough and its barely running. I check the fuel pressure and all of a sudden its down like 15 psi. I adjust it, drive around all seems fine, a few days later it starts sputtering coming up to lights, I get out to check and now the fuel pressure is about 10 psi too high. I adjust drive and repeat. Yes, I am tightening down the washer, no it is not bolted to the engine - but the fuel pressure refuses to stay dialed in. What could be the problem?

I realized I still have the stock wiring on my high pressure Extreme FP, and I will rewire it soon, but it should still be able to maintain the correct pressure at idle right?

Perhaps you have electrical problems. Next time it shows LOW psi check the battery voltage too. if your voltage sags your pump wouldnt pump at max psi. just a thought.

At idle, I'm only getting like 12 to 12.5 volts. I have been noticing my lights diming at idle and the fuel pump whine oscillating with the turn signals. I have a stock alternator, and a used Optima Red top. hmmmm... thanks.

You definatly have Low voltage at idle.
Check your battery connections with a volt meter, not saying thats your fix, but getting oyur voltage up is a start.

clean the terminals and the lugs and get a good shiny surface then bolt them back up.
if voltage is still low, might be alt.

I had the alternator and battery checked, charging was fine.
So then I had the fuel pump rewired straight off the battery and now that seems to have done the trick.

Thanks for all the help everyone.
