Hey guys, I just bought my 96 GST 5spd 5 months ago, since i bought it its gone an extensive list of mods, I decided to build it before even it putting a tag on it, and its almost done...I have no idea what to expect or what i might be missing...here is the list and thanks in advance.

-Custom 3" intake
-Custom 3" full exahust from turbo back
-Greddy Big FMIC
-Apex'I BOV
-Custom made Tubular header
-HKS Standard Wastegate
-TO4E turbo with .70 A/R in the back
-660cc injectors
-walbro 255 fuel pump
-Aeromotive regulator
-EVC 4
-AFC 2
-NX Wet Kit jetted to 60hp
-ACT Clutch
-All the gauges / Timer etc

Thats all i can think off in performance, everything else is cosmetic suspension and brakes. If you know what i should expect, or what i might need next please feel free to post your advice.

Mario.

get a DSM Link V2 and sell the afc cause it WILL NOT cut it for your settup.

What are the specs on that turbo? you ARE planing on taking it to the dynoand using a wideband correct ? IMO that greddy fmic aint worth a lick...

The car will DEFINTILY go to the Dyno, and i think the intercoller is adequate for everything else i have. Turbo is a TO4E like i said, with a stage V wheel and .70 in the back front wheel is the biggest one you can get with a TO4E

I agree with Candela on the FMIC. Try the SBR 2G IC, its big. Also, the ADFX 2G kit comes with a nice sized front mount.

You'll need a good fuel system, unless you want to tear the car down again and build the motor this time around.

Yeah, how about upgrading the plugs and wires. If you are ever going to take it to the track, you're also gonna need a 2 stage boost controller(if you don't already have one) motor mounts, and a lsd. Which ACT clutch do you have?

I've got the prothane mounts, ACT 2600 clutch. Nology Wires, NGK 3330s, I dont understand why the FMIC should be a problem i have seen over 400WHP thru that intercooler in the past...My goal was to make about 400-450WHP. I'm going to order the DSM Link, and the GM MAF-T, other than that, I dont know what else i would need to do to my fuel system.

My Boost controller is sort of a 2 stage, i can use it at 10psi for exaple and switch to scrambble boost by presing a button.

Cool, sounds like to me you should be pulling some pretty good numbers. I don't see the problem with that FMIC either. I've heard nothing but good things. Not to mention I have had no problems with mine. I've had it for about 6 months now, and besides the bugs/few bends, it's still in excellent condition.

Also your GM/MAFT, will in be blow thru in you UICP, or on the intake?

You see thats my biggest question, because i have seen it in both places, and i cant find any posts that explains the pros and cons of having it in either place. I would think in the UP IC pipe is a restriction but then again, i'd like to hear what the experts say.

Well, I'm no expert either, but I'll try my best to tell ya what it's been like for me. First of all, I have the blow thru UICP set up for my maft. Tuning has been so much easier for me, also venting, has no longer been a problem. It just seems that you would get a better airflow reading, and more airflow that way, vice installing in on an intake with a filter on the end, even if you removed the head light. Sure you can remove the air filter, but that would be kinda dumb. if I'm wrong about the intake set up, then please correct me.

Just look at the guys that have the GM/MAFT, you'll see more often than not, it's is in blow-thru set up.

Have you dynoed your car?,....it seems like w have VERY similar setups, i'm just curious onto what to expect on adn off spray.

ANd I agree, most people have it in the upper I/C pipe. It seems like thats the way to go

I haven't dynoed it yet, prob won't until May, I'm still working out the littel bugs I have left. :(
