97+ headlight question.

I got some 97-99 headlights off ebay, but on the light itself its
supposed ot have a metal grommet that goes into the light where the
bolt goes into but one of the lights doesnt have any. Anyone know
where to get one to put in there? Damn ebay sellers....

I only use the top and the 2 on the back that you highlighted to make it easier to yank the headlight at the track. I would think those would be needed, what is there instead or is it stripped out? if so, maybe find a threaded insert, and glue it in to substitute

There is nothing there...Thats the problem. The metal insert is gone completely. That is my question where to get a new insert or possible make something to fit in there.

go to ytour local hardware store and look for threaded sleeves, or tubing that have threads inside (if you won a tap set you can make your own out of some aluminim piping. And just glue them in, use the screw to hold it in place till they dry. Then make sure you can bakc them out, if not just a bit more torque can break them lose again. And dont worry about the bolt size, just get some that match the threaded sleeves you get, just make sure the sleeve OD are smaller thn the ID of the spot where the stock one was.
