So I've been hanging around here for like three years, using tech articles and what not, but I've never actually posted up pictures of my car. So today I figured I might as well.

The car is a 1994 Mitsubishi Mirage Sedan that me and my friends built in my garage and my relatives welding shop almost 4 years ago. The car has a complete Evo 1 swap in it to include the 4G63, the right hand drive set up and the all wheel drive set up. I was lucky enough to find a great deal on ebay for a front clip with all body panels, suspension, brakes, drivetrain, interior, doors/glass, etc... for 3900shipped.

The swap was pretty straight forward, the Engine and trans from the Evo 1-3 drop straight into the mirage sedan body, seeing as how they share the same chassis. To do the right hand drive swap, we cut the fire walls from the front clip and from my car with an inch over lap and welded the evo 1 fire wall into my car. We also removed the panel bars from under the dash from each and swapped them. From there, the steering column and all under dash parts bolted up. For the clutch pedal i had to custom make some brackets but it was nothing big. After that the dash and all external parts bolted straight in with no problems.

The awd set up is where i want to change things up a bit so ill hold off on discussing that until i actually get around to doing it, for now it's running front wheel drive with a welded center diff and viscous coupler eliminator and no transfer case.

So now some pictures of the car, from the day I got it, to the current day.:dsm:

Ok so the swap took about two weeks of on and off work in March of 05 before we got it running. Here are some pictures of it after we got it all together and running.

Alright so moving forward to December 06, I had just had back surgery after suffering with a herniated disk all year and I got bored and decided to paint my car because i was tired of it being primered in the back and nicely paint in the front. I decided to go with yellow mainly because i didn't know what i was doing and there's alot of dents in the car and i was told that light colors hide imperfections haha So i stripped down the car and painted it yellow.

Stripping it down.

The car looks exactly like that but with these little door protectors on it as of now

So that's a brief history behind the car. As far as mods go ill make a little list here:
Suspension: Stock Evo 1 suspension with swap bars and rigid strut tower braces.
Brakes: Stock Evo 1 calipers with Carbotech AX-6 pads (love these things)
Tires: Yokohama Parada spec-2
Engine: Evo 1 4G63 16g 22psi, BC 272/272, balance shaft eliminator, ARP head studs, Cometic MLS headgasket, NGK BPR7ES, Evo 1 oil cooler, Koyo radiator
Intake/exhaust: Evo 1 FMIC with stock pipes, 2g Injen intake with 4 1/2" K/N filter, Evo 3 ported exhaust manifold, stock down pipe, 2 1/2" test pipe, 3" Bullet Cat back.
Trans: W5M33 running FWD, welded TRE center diff with VCE, ACT2600, XACT flywheel
Fuel: 10gallon fuel cell with MSD high flow fuel pump, Evo 1 510Injectors.
Interior: evo 1 Recaros with matching rears, Momo steering, Sony crappy stereo.ROFL

So that's it, I though I would post up my car and say Thanks to DSMTUNERS.com at the same time for giving me ALOT of valuable knowledge over the years. I plan to stick around for a long time! :thumb:

Yellow is just the temporary color until I have enough time to send it out to get properly painted. I think I'm going to have it painted black because it looks amazing in black.
The right hand drive gives it that little bit "more" that it needed, although leaving it on the left would be totally sleeper. As far as the weight, I honestly don't know but the car originally weighs in about 2300 so it's probably around 2500 or so. I've been meaning to take it over to the weigh station near my house, I just haven't had the time.

I got the car for $400 but I had to put some money into it to get it running with the stock engine. I also had to have the transmission rebuilt so just in the stock form it sucked about 2 grand out of me. After that I bought rims and a body kit which was about 1500, along with a sony stereo system (another 400). After that I bought the actual front clip which was $3900 shipped. Over the years I've spent probably 1-2 grand on just parts, fluids, tires and what not. So over the years I've probably spent around 10grand on the car in total, which isn't too bad.

A few updates on the car.

I haven't done much as far as engine mods go, just letting it run smoothly. I did do a few exterior mods such as a lowes front lip (looks good actually), evo 1 spoiler, and my favorite the evo 3 rear air dams

future plans right now are to start over and do everything over and build the motor. I should have some evo 4 seats in a few days as well.

Some days I love this car...and some days I just want to get rid of it! :ohdamn:
