k so i bought this car about 2 years ago, fun car to use as my daily, when i bought it it came with a few fun upgrades, such as k&n air filter, centerforce II clutch, and a nice set of rims. drove this car pretty hard for about 5 months before problems started to arise.
the first was the drive axle, started making a very loud clicking noise when i turned the wheel all the way to one side or another. around the same time i noticed i had a cracked manifold/ turbo.
after replacing the axle i then turned my focus to the manifold, the way i saw it the crack in the turbo wasnt all THAT big at the time so fix the bigger problem first... i invested in a godspeed manifold and it work great! for about a month... after getting into a pretty solid highway race with an srt8 challenger, i made the turbo problem WAY worse... now the crack that was almost microscopic, became a gash that was 2.5mm wide... at this point i had to park the car, as winter was right around the corner and funds were low i had no other option but to drive my honda...
next while i had it parked in a storage locker (that quickly became my personal garage) i managed to get my hands on a 16g evo big turbo, the swap went without a problem. and spring rolled around where i was able to take it for a rip!! after about a days worth of driving it started to heat up quite a bit... so while driving in rush hour traffic, i pulled over into a gas station and waited for the fans to work their magic....
they never turned on...
after opening the hood and assesing the damage, i found that my fans were almost completely gone... and the turbo-manifold gasket was pushed out spitting hot exhaust on the fans causing them to fail....
ive tried many times to fix the issue with that gasket, and managed to go through 6... in the end i found that the godspeed manifold was warped, (probably from my own doing allong the way) but it had to go.... so i got my hands on a used 2g stock manifold and it works great!
there are a few bugs still in the car, but now that i am ready to build a beast, i plan on getting rid of them one at a time....
what i want to create is a 500awhp daily driver... i want something that can get me to and from work, but destroy everyone along the way, plans for the future involve a complete head rebuild (with hks272), hard piped IC, eprom+socketed ecu, 6 speed trans (a friend of mine has found a way to do it), and these are just some of the highlights for this coming summer!
