I heard that the 90 ECU was set up to run on 87 octane fuel. Anyone know if that is true. With the price of 93 octane today, I have a 90 ECU that I can send off to Steve to get refurbished.

You need to run premium on any turbo car period.;)

I realize that. Just chasing down a rumor I heard. There's been times that all I can find is 91 octane. All the octane level does is prevent spark knock and cause the car to pull timing.

When the car was new, about all we had in the area was 89-90 octane. Car seemed to run OK on that.

If the 90 Eprom tables could adjust for 87, it would save a bunch. I go thru about 6 tanks a month. Just looking to save an extra $50-60 a month.
