420A 420a mechanical tensioner conversion

Hello I’ve recently installed a mechanical tensioner on my turbo 420 and it tends to walk off the front of the cams. I’ve seen where the inner timing cover needs to be modified but all photos and threads won’t show up.

Does any have a picture for reference on the modification I need?

Ever since I installed the car has a rough idle to it as well, thanks any info appreciated.

If you have a rough idle your timing is probably off by a tooth so you should double check it.

I had a heck of a time fighting to get the belt on and decided to buy a factory Chrysler belt and try it all again this weekend. Read in another thread that another guy had the same issue and it ended up being the belt.
