So, im new to dsm tuning, my previous cars have all had standalones or similar units. When i bought my 91 gsx, it came with a SAFC installed. which is alright, but it is nowhere near what i like to use controlling wise, very limited, although does the job under boost for fuel management.
I bought a car to collect parts from, a 1990 gsx, and inside i found a pcm, with "2.0 NA FWD EPROM" written on it. which i guess is what he tuned the car with.
or i have a AEM FIC piggy back ecu from my sti build left over.
so what tuning device should i chose for my goals of 350 hp? the SAFC is hard to work with, old tech for sure. the eprom ecu is obviously the most advanced and customizable for our cars, but i would need to spend the 500 or whatever to get the software. or the FIC, which i have history with in tuning. and i have at my disposal for free. but at the end of the day is still a piggyback and can be overrun some times. i had some issues tuning the sti with it, but the dsm pcms are so basic it might not have any problems.
