Yeah, I know that I don't know a lot about it. And so that is probably what will end up happening....but right now I am just trying to get it up to @ least 180HP without a turbo...

if i were just hang out on the forums, be a troll and be like me. i spent about 20 hours in 1 weekend just reading and reading dsmtuners and 2gnt and any article i could find. It doesnt take long to soak in all the info, just takes some dedication.

Yeah, believe me...that is like all I have been doing is reading off this site...I have actually acquired a rather large amount of knowledge in just a short period of time. Still far far away from most everyone...but that is okay!

Thanks!

look, if you dont have anything informative to add to the post, then dot post anything. if all your going to say is buy a turbo model, then keep it to yoursle. its not as simple as that, he asked about turboing his his 420a not buying a turbo model

Yes, well really all that I am looking for is at least 180HP at the crank...is that something that can be done "cheaply" and when I say "cheaply" I mean in the hundreds?

Acrroding to what I have been reading it shouldn't be much of a problem at all...but then again, I know almost nothing about this.

And yes, I know that may not seem like a lot...but compared to the 90HP car that I have been driving around in that is crazy.

Well lets see

Custom Cat-Back w/ Muffler $250
CAI off ebay $100
Header w/ hi flow cat $185
AF/X UDP $140
P&P tb $50

So far that is $725 n if i had to estimate hp i would say close to 180 (correct me if im wrong please)

EDIT: Oh yea, if ure ally wanted u can get i/h/e and a 50 shot haha

50 shot if that's all you want. But why bother? 180 at the crank is what ... a 16 sec car? Keep saving up for the turbo kit if you don't want to jsut get a turbo car. And do it right don't cut corners.

Hey guys!

First time poster!

I was reading for a while but couldnt find any hard information.

We just got a 1995 Eclipse GS 2.0 N/A

I made a turbo manifold for her tonight and bolted the turbo up and fabbed up the intercooler and intake piping.

ONE MAJOR question that I need answered.

WHERE is the OIL FEED to the turbocharger!

I cant for the life of me find it!

Anyway I am using a .60/.63 T3, which was a spare from my Twin Turbo 94 Mustang.

Yea yea, I own a Mustang(2 Cobras, 1 Notchback), as well as a Honda and the DSM.

Thanks a lot!

You built your own manifold? :thumb: , I had plans for doing the same thing when I was running my pos ranger. anyways what did you use for the manifold?(I have the welding skills just need to know what material(any pics) ) also that T3, is that the same one as the old 2.3 svo's? just wanted to know 'cause theres a junkyard near me that'll sell those puppies for $40 a pop. :thumb:

old thread... but whatever, this is a good link to point out

this guy put together a complete turbo kit with a new motor and built bottom end for under $2,000 using a 14B and a lot of second-hand parts. if you don't build your bottom end and replace your motor, he has less then $1,000 into the whole thing. the best part about this buildup is that the sky is the limit - he now has a built bottom end with a great turbocharger and he could push it as hard as he wants since he did it RIGHT.
with some custom fabbing you can accomplish anything for cheap. and do the wo

How about swaping in the hole motor from a turboed 92 eclipse into a 96 talon non-turbo? will it drop in and work?

500 bucks for a turbo AND manifold? That sounds a bit farfatched on the consumer-end (I mean unless you have a machining shop in your pocket). Down here in MIA World Wide Racing charges 450-500 bucks for the manifold alone. South Florida Performance charges about the same. If someone can get a manifold and turbo that cheap, that's trust whorty (, I'd be in for a group buy, hell yea. :thumb: :dsm: :talon: :laser:

yo...hey guys....i haven't posted in a while, but I just bought my kit w/mani off of ebay for $5xx shipped. All I'll need to get is an IC and the supporting parts for the kit (boost gauge/mbc/super AFC etc.) The kit comes w/all the lines etc. I'll need bigger injectors and fuel management stuff. & just for the record, i spun a rod bearing a few months back & decided then to install my low compression parts to build up to my turbo install. I'll be recieving the turbo kit this week....I'll try my best to keep you guys in the loop.

Stay up everyone....pray for me & all the other troops in or enroute to Iraq.

I agree with this 100% I wasted so much money by not being patient and doing it right from the get go. I now have an awesome 390whp rs but when I think of all the money I wasted on useless stuff it makes my stomach turn. I know you want more hp, but be patient and save the $2500 to get a kit, youll be pushing 225hp at the crank and asve tons in the long run.

The oil feed line you want to use for your turbo is done by putting a T fitting were your stock oil sensor is and running a line to the tubro. The return line will have to be made in the oil pan yourself.

i have a 91 talon n/t but i have been reading up on the instalation on turbos. u can run 9-10 psi as the other member said safely....the 3-4 idea isnt worth it u mine as well wait till you have all or most of the money together...u can run 9-10 easy. im actually looking to turbo mine....but im not to sure what all i HAVE to upgrade. i know i need the manifold, turbo unit itself, intercooler. what else do i need? i THINK that i need a fuel pump out of a turbo, like 390cc injectors, knock sensor, fuel managment unit or stock turbo ECU. let me know if u know what i need. thanks

I was looking around on ebay and found a company that sells the turbo/manifold/wastegate/oil line kit for $850 shipped for the 420A!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Brand new. there web site is www.thestreetsource.com :dsm: :thumb:

alright, we're talkin turbo, the only thing i'm trippin on if :

#1 is it worth it?
#2 will it make me fail smog
#3 and yea thats it :)

yea i got a 98 Mitsubishi Eclipse N/T with the 420A motor
 i was bootin it and my belts came off fer som odd reason and now i gotta fix it

When I bought my Star Stage II kit, it was stuck at 3psi. Ofcourse it did have the fmic but the wastegate spring seemed to only let it go up to 3psi. The boost controller fixed this but trust me when I say you WILL WANT MORE and 3psi won't be enough, aspecially when u think u already put a turbo in your car and why waste it's potential, etc etc...i remember thinking that I'd be more than satisfied with a stage II kit but with my fuel injectors failing at past 6psi and all I reaaally want more, I've been hit bad by the boost bug!
