Hey guys I've got the the Hahn downpipe with a 3" end and my current exhaust is 2.5". I don't think I can afford buying a full 3" for the install, but I can use my current 2.5". My question to you guys is: Will these two fit together? Is the anyway I can get away with running 3" then 2.5" back until I upgrade my exhaust? I can quite figure out how these two will bolt up correctly considering their flanges are probably 1/8 inch off all around.. If you have any ideas or suggestions, let me know... Otherwise I won't be boosted for the Shoot out!

if you take it to an exhaust shop they have 3" ins with 2.5" outs they can simply remove you cat and weld a reducer in its place.

Wow, never thought of that. If its under $75 I can do it, but anymore then that and I mine as well buy a new exhaust...

BTW, I like the color of your car.. :thumb: Nice choice.

Thanks, thats an old picture form my camera phone. It still looks almost the exact same its lexus red now just a tad brighter. If i ever get a digital camera ill get a new pic posted LOL.

umm...last time I checked most exhaust shops won't just remove your cat for you, that umm kinda illegal. Why not just run an open downpipe if you really can't figure anything else out.

Maybe not in Alaska, but here if you take the cat off yourself they will do whatever you tell them to. We dont have vehicle inspection or emissions in Arkansas though.

...that says it right there LOL

Open downpipe??? I don't think thats what I want to do. Now if it were only for drag then I'd be down but for a DD I just can't do it..

I don''t know about the cat idea, because you would need to completely re-hack or re-weld the cat or the ends to fit my downpipe flange. Otherwise, there would be no way to connect the two...

What? you just weld it all into 1 piece. If you want to make it removable then just by a matching flange to the downpipe and have it welded to the reducer. problem solved assuming u can go without a cat where you live.

Yeah I can live without a CAT around here until inspection, but I am thinking of buying the reducer first, THEN taking it to them. That way they can grasp what I want better, and don't charge me up the ass for the reducer itself..

Anyone have pics of the cat? Haven't been down there in a while to recall its specs...

What's wrong with open downpipe? Why not just run it that way until you save up a lil money for full 3" all the way back?

Dude an open downpipe is f**king L-O-U-D... Theres no way I will do that...

I will be buying a 3" cat-back like a week or two right after the install. So it wouldn't be that long...

I dont know, if worse comes to worse, I'll just run an open Downpipe.. Although it isn't my first choice.

Eh, I have runb open downpipe for 4 months, Im used to it, its not that loud. I just dont like the constant brrrrrrr when I drive, its hard to hear other engine functions and I always think the cars going to break.:p

Running open downpipe is NOT that loud at all. Having a turbo actually quiets down the exhaust compared to being NA. I rode with DSMCrazy3 when he had an open downpipe on his car and it wasn't that bad.

It's not the open downpipe for driving around here that bothers me, it's the 600 mile journey to Ohio that I'm worried about.. Long distances to the middle of bumble f**k scare me.. especially after maybe 3 days since the install..

Hm.. I was thinking like 4UH8ERs said, but if you cut the flange on the cat and get a reducer in there, then re-weld the flange back on, it shouldn't be a problem to bolt right up on my Downpipe. Atleast I don't think.
