Ok I feel like a complete noob but I can't find this plug for the life of me. Where the o2 sensor connects to the harness under the hood. If anyone has a pic of what main harness it comes off of or any detail that would be great. Putting the new motor in and can't find the plug to connect my o2 sensor too. Searched for a good 2 hours high and low.

It's pretty easy to find. Don't quote me on this but I THOUGHT it was on the same bulk of wire as the coolant sensor. It's either near the thermostat housing or the passenger side fan. Sorry I can't give a definite answer, I'm at work right now.

The O2 sensor connector should be in the same leg of the engine harness as the starter safety switch, ECT sensor, 1 wire sensor on the thermo housing (I believe the water temp gauge), and VSS. The O2 sensor should be the 3rd longest in that bunch.

Also the reverse switch would be in that bunch if its a 5 speed or all the auto tranny connectors if its an auto.

Thought so. :thumb:

Yeah I am looking at that bunch and its not in there grrrrrrr. I think someone messed with my harness at work. What colors am I looking for so I can find the loose wires.

From my 97 GSX - Black, White, Red, Yellow. All solid.

For some reason, it looks like the O2 sensors aren't listed when you choose a 1995 Eclipse, but they are listed for the 1997. That's where I got mine. Can anyone confirm they are the same? I would assume they are because the O2 sensor housings are the same on both vehicles, but I don't want to see you spend $150 and have them be the wrong part.

I was actually messing with that plug the other day cause my wire is just dangling loose in front of my fan after the manifold install. It should be under the UICP somewhere between the lower coolant line. You just have to grope around for it. Careful though, if you recently ran your engine, watch the connecting elbow to the thermostat. I burned myself a good few times while fidgeting with it.

Boostedinsofla: Go with Denso. I'm running it right now. Works fine.

Hey thanks for the link. Should I go with the Denso or the Walker brand? Never heard of Walker before.

Here's a thread on the Walker sensor:
http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newbie-forum/74665-walker-o2-sensors.html

Here's a thread from another forum dealing with the exact same question:
Denso vs. Walker O2 Sensors - Club RSX Message Board

And my opinion - I'd go with the Denso because it's not too much more and I know the name a lot better. But, other people said the Walkers work just fine so it's really up to you and what you want.

Well, the purpose is to check to see if your cat is there and working properly. I'd say if you look at it and it looks nasty or you're throwing a CEL (or if you have no idea when the last time it was replaced was), go ahead and do it. It couldn't hurt and will keep you up on your maintenance. But, if you don't want to spend the money and you aren't experiencing any problems, I'd say don't worry about it.

Or you could get a wideband sensor ;)

Well, that problem is solved because I dont have a cat; thank god I only ordered the pre-cat one. I'll be getting a wideband in the near future though. ;)

If you get a CEL, you could just do the o2 sensor bypass mod. There's a few different ways to do it.

Although I don't have an o2 in the rear and my CEL very rarely goes off for it. When it does I just unhook my battery. The DSM way!
