I currently have a 1998 GSX that i want to put a 20G turbo on. All of the main "bolt on" parts are done... ( Hard intercooler piping, B&M fuel pressure regulator, dejon tools intake, Turbo XS boost controller & BOV, tubular exhaust manifold, 3'' down pipe, 3'' cat back, 255LPH fuel pump ) I have lieing in my garage a 1G turbo off of a 1992 Eclipse turbo i belive it is a 14B. I am in the proccess of buying a SAFC, and 660 injectors which i know are needed for a 20G set up. If i was to put on the 14B for the time being A- would i knowtice a big difference in power over my stock T25? and B- i know i need an install kit ( the same one that i would need for the 20G so it wouldnt be a waist of money ) but would i need bigger injectors that stock to run the 14B safley? I know its not accurate to look off of the Autometer air/fuel ratio gauge that i have in my car because it isnt a wide band, but i know i am dumping alot of boost when i am getting on the car it is in full Rich. If anyone has any ideas and or sugestions please let me know.

Yea a 14b will work and once you put it on, you can just swap the 14b out and put on the 20g. When i had my t-25 my friend had the same car 98 gst with a 14b He would get me about 2-3 cars on a quarter mile lets say.

Things you need for swap 14b/20g
~Oil feed line
~Oil return line. Or dremel out your holes on the original unit.
~May use a spacer plate in between the head and the manifold for the 20g.

I may have the exact AN measurments for the feed, so you can purchase the pieces at a local shop (speed shop) My feed line came out to 30 dollers, I already had a return line laying around. I am running a 20g at 10psi.

You should be able to run a 14B on stock injectors (1G's also come w/ 450cc injectors). Just don't crank up the boost too much. I did a search and found that the stock boost level on a 1G is 10 psig, as long as you don't exceed that you should be fine.

Oil feed fitting on turbo.
12 x 1.25 thread

12mm to –4 flare with a 1.25 thread: fittings allow you to use a standard -4 AN hose to supply oil to the turbo Or whatever size you please. My recomendation take the turbo to the local speed shop and try out their fitting on it. If not just buy a feedline from an online vendor. It will run you anywere from 40-60 dollers.

Also The 14b can put out as much as 15-16 psi to redline anything after that, you can push it but the turbo wont be efficient (dropping towards redilne), You can run 14psi saftely, i wouldnt push it more than without a logger.

Thanks for the reply's, well in my local area i run the local speed shop so it will be easy for that return line, but i think that the kit comes with it. Im glad that you all said that there would be a big difference in the car because im getting bored with it now. when i got the car i was amazed but once you get used to it.. well you know it seems alot slower. I think im going to go for that upgrade for now, somone said somthing about a spacer? whats that all about?...

Well I am using a Hahn super 20g. The turbo will interfere with the block. Which calls in for a spacer plate between the head and the exhaust manifold. the spacer plate will bring the manifold out approximately 1inch, to give the turbo adequate space. I am not to familiar with other 20g turbos and how they might fit, I am talking in behalf of Hahn 20g users. Hey man all in all good luck with your setup and enjoy :thumb:

Spacer Smacer, I have a GT14 and I just hit my water pipe with a hammer until it fit :D I make it sound worse than it is though, its actually just a little indent and this is using a Evo Manifold.

I saw that one of you said that you are running a hahn 20G turbo? How do you like it i spent alot of time looking for the turbo thats right for me i feel that a 16G is too small and the T3/T4 is too much lag for the driving i do. I know of 2 people that are running a hahn 16G on thier RS-T (non-turbo conversion) and they seem to like it but i didnt know if they loved it just because the fact that they never had a turbo on their cars earlier. Im deff going to do the 14B swap for now because everyone seems to be the same in saying that i will knowtice a big difference and as for the EVO manifold i didnt think that was going to be good enouph so i already bought and put on a ceramic coated equil lenght tubular manifold for the car and it looks amazing. Thanks again for your advice.

Yeah the tubular Manifolds look really neat but I am paranoid about them cracking. Plus I don't have a bracket holding the turbo up so I wanted something that I knew would be really strong. Mine has been ported quite a bit so its really not that big of a performance issue. I guess it's all about if its show or go I guess. I wonder if anyone has a great tubular manifold out there that hasn't cracked? (and have had it on their car for over a year)
