I am in the process of restoring a 2g for my daughter. One of the things we need is a dash because it is delaminating. There seems to be a big bubble around the drivers side instrument cluster hump on the top of the dash. It is not torn at all. All the dashes Ive seen at the junkyards have some kind of this damage also. Should I quit looking for a good one? Does anyone know how to repair this? We planned to paint all the interior black anyway. My daughter just LOVES the idea of fiber glassing this thing and painting it body color but its a ton of work and I dont even think its legal to drive on the street after thats been done. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Well if you're going to be doing the whole interior I would pull the dash and repair and and then smooth it out. After painting it use a low gloss clear so the sun won't blind her.

Dash is out. She took it out. I dont know how to repair something like a big bubble. I was thinking a serine with glue in it but theres padding in there and its just going to rip another layer of that up and be back to the way it was imho. If I was going to glass it I would just cut the seam with a blade and glass over it but that is a last resort.

This is what I am talking about. I snagged this picture from a guy on here in a interior painting thread. This is the same bubble I have. Is this how they all get???

Pictures would be a great help.

That picture I just posted didnt show up? I can see it from my end. Dude thats the picture of your dash that you posted in another thread LOL. Did you know when you were prepping your dash for paint that there was that bubble in it???

So I went to three junkyards today. Out of thirty cars only one dash didnt start to bubble like this one. And it was a stratus. Some were slight and just starting to go and others had huge bubbles in them. So I guess the easiest way to fix this one is 85.00 at pick and pull and I feel I got real lucky.
