1g Heads to 2g Heads HELP!!!

I recently bought a set of 1g heads off of e-bay but I lost the item description and the seller has changed his e-mail address or something. I was wondering if their is anywhere on the heads that will help me to identify which style of heads i have. What I am planning on doing is putting the cams from 1g and putting them on my 2g block. then send the heads to get worked on. So it would also help if i new all the mods that had to be made to the cams in order for them to work right in the 2g.

So just to get to the point you need to know what to do to 1G cams to make them work in your 2G?

If that is your question I beleive that the intake cam needs to be tapped for the sensor.

yeah i guess in a nut shell. I have heard that not all intake cams need tapped. I do have a 1g cas too, if i put that on to the 2b heads will it work.

that is a little confusing to me. what does the crank sensor have to do with the cam sensor and also does this mean i need to go and buy a 1g crank sensor.

Is it even worth placing 1g cams into 2g heads or should I just gfet some HKS cams and and gears and call it a day?

You said you had a 1G CAS and wanted to know if you could use it in the 2G and I sent you directions on how to.

oh ok cool. yeah i can use it then. it was just the first part of the page was talking about putting a 6bolt 1g into a 7bolt 2g. All i have to do is put that CAS on the cam and everything will work good.

I am having a shop install the cams. they will be able to get the timing donw right also correct?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the cams virtually the same between 1G and 2G? Also you better make sure you have a turbo head, because the 4g63 non-turbo cams were quite a bit different. It'd actually be a major downgrade in your case.

Are your cams not working or do you think the swap would be beneficiary?

my cams have lines dug from a rocker getting stuck. I think you only get a few horses out of the swap. but i own them and does really feel like waiting to get HKS cams.

that why i asked:

Well I guess that thread answered alot of my questions. I will put the 1g cams on my 2g heads. Then get the 1g heads worked on and get them built up.

The only question I have now is how can I tell what year the heads were made. Is there a place on the heads with a stamp or anything like that?

What is the intake size? Measure it, that will tell you. Here is the inverse side (the intake manifold) the 1G is larger and to the left.. this should give you an example to go by.
