1G FMIC Install

Well I used to have a "Tiny” (custom) Srt-4 intercooler as a FMIC. Well I decided to go ahead and order a real FMIC (with well designed endtanks). I got it a week ago and finally yesterday night I got around to install it. Thanks to my buddy Ivancho.

Well this is how my old setup looks like:

Here is the deal. I already had Intercooler pipes on the car. and I couldn't wait that long to install it (waiting for another friend to welds and cut the pipes I need) I did it mostly at night with a small hand saw (ohh boy it hurts to cut with that - I need to get power tools ).

First I ripped out the old Intercooler and use all the custom bracket I had done for that setup. I realized that I can reuse them. BTW I am really lucky that everything bolted in just perfect. So, here are the results....

BTW I will get the end of the intercooler Weld it together (I know it looks weird with longs couplers). I had to use a peace of pipe since the old intercooler had long endtank pipe.

Shoulda used t-bolts, I see boost leaks in your near future.

Be careful on those steep parking lot entrances. I can easily see you scraping a hole in that pipe that runs under the intercooler. The piping run is a little on the long side which is less than ideal, but given the DIY approach it isn't so bad. You'll have to let us know what the butt-dynno says.

Thanks for some comments! I know It is long and eveything but at least I have a FMIC. I was trying to do it in a short way. Because I have all the accesories (stock fans) on the car and the lack of a "J" pipe I wasn't able to do a short route.
