I dont know where people are getting thier info from. But that piece of shit in F&F had a 420a....and if someone pays 40 grand for that car, they need to be checked into a mental institute.

last time i checked (this was several years ago, when i gave a shit) it was an RS with a PVC roll cage, two shitty 8 inch subs, etc. a bunch of paint and other b.s. the turbo noises were dubbed in.
honestly, who cares what it had in it? its ugly. the only thing that should be lime green, is limes.

it was not a 4g63 it was a non turbo 420a with a downpipe Watch the movie guys !!! i have it on my pc, i saw 420a chrome valve cover, downpipe, oil catch can, chrome sway bar. And i say this as a FACT Watch the MOVIE again when they open the hood !!!!

Hmmm..... I may have to go check this out, seeing as how the car is like 25 mins away form my house, I've been to Volo many times, the last time I went, I saw the RX-7, and It looked different than the one from the movie, but that would be the only one they get money for. They have a lot of cool cars there, but I don't know why they bought up all the F&F cars, I think it was a bad investment for such a well respected CLASSIC car museum.

P.S. Going there in the summer is worth a day trip if you are interested in classic cars, they have hundreds, and almost all of them are for sale.

it was a rs, it came to a local car show as a featured car. IT has rear drum brakes.

not actual car... all of the cars in the movie had 97-99 headlights ...IMO ,they bought all GS/RS cars for the movie due to cost ,bottom line is its just cheaper....

the Car was acting to to be a gsx and be turbo in the movie... The actual car and motor was that of a gs. and if you watch the movie you will see the Rear brakes have those fake calipers on them, behind those fake calipers are actuall drum brakes.... and the car did have a 420a crap motor in it... On the first race everyone could tell it wasnt a gsx becuase he almost wrecked launching the car because of torque steer... common problem in gs when you have 2, 25lb bottles of nitrous off the line LOL :shhh:

420slow . end of discussion . Your going to believe f&F saying it was a 4g63 . pfftt. And someone said something about the rx-7 being the only worthy car . What about the supra .

cuz if you go watch the movie again, the supra has the non-turbo V6...same motor as teh Lexus IS300..... :thumbdown

The Lexus IS300 has a 3.0 2jz, its the same engine as a supra (minus the turbo).

the "real" eclipse was in fact a GSX. it was owned by someone who lived close to the director, and the director liked it, and basically cloned it 3 times, one car for driving, one for beating the crap out of, and one for the stop shots. if they made all 3 gsx's that would be costly, so all 3 were just GS/RS cloned to look like the real GSX.

and the real GSX was sold on ebay years ago, by the owner of the car, who got about 60k from it if i remember.

on the DVD of 2 fast 2 furious they stated that they used the rx-7 from the first movie for the rx-7 in the first race of the second movie......plus that is definatly a 420a motor :thumbdown

WTF...these guys are supposedly selling the real cars for hundreds of thousands of dollars, yet they can't even spell right?

I saw the eclipse from F&F at the detroit custom auto show and it was definately a 420a. Maybe they had multiple cars

Chances are pretty good that they had multiple cars. I've seen one at the L.A. auto show, and at Universal Studios, they have another (possibly the same) set up on display. Both seemed to be RS's.

Having multiple cars on a movie production is pretty common practice. for example,

The guy that lives across the hall from me is working on the new Dukes of Hazzard movie. He told me that there are about 15 General Lees (same as the old show, dixie flag and all).

The 2JZGTE is an Inline 6... not a V6

Notice, this was the close up car... most of the cars were RS as every else has mentioned... the turbo sound is a cheesy exhaust tip, I test drove an RS at triple crown a couple weeks ago, and it sounded just like a turbo until I shifted and there wasn't any blowoff... was amusing...

If i remember right the owner of the orange supra sold it on SupraStore.com a long while back. Hahaha i knew that was a 420a i saw when i watched the movie..i didnt realize at first but i knew somethin was up...then upon closer inspection...low and behold the 420A

I remember that. That was way back before I had my eclipse, and thought I could afford a twin supra... Ha! I can barely afford to mod my eclipse, and I still would have been paying off that supra for a few years.

Oh, and to pretend to care about this topic: the F&F cars all look like crap... IMO. :thumb:
