Regina,
i recently went to the track, and i was running high 15's all day untill the end of the day i finally ran a 15.4 @ 88mph which i still that wasnt happy with, i think it should be faster i drive a 91 plymouth laser rs with turbo, i have a boost controoler set at 15-16psi, open K&N filter with the passenger head light removed for a ram air tipe deal, vented blow off valve with no problems because of the auto tranny, and i have 2.5 inch exhasut from the cat back with no cat made by a local muffler shop, and i have the bpr 6es plugs in but stock wires, i have all of the free mods done and all that, and i even stripped the whole interior and i put some 104 octane boost in to mix in with the 91 octane gas, i had the turbo spooled at 15psi before the green light and had a strong launch but i couldnt break any good times whats the problem????

check for leaks in the intake and exhaust. take the intake pipe out and see how the turbo shaft is doing.

youll be faster venting to the intake, as it helps spool the turbo. With good driving and recirculating 14s are possible. but thats your problem....
Andrew

Yeah, having an auto transmission doesn't help with venting to atmosphere. It will still be slower if the A/F is affected.

I have a 95 5sp dsm with a greddy type s bov. I vented and the car was fine didnt really mess up my gas (did lose a little) but acceleration was pretty slugish but once I hit full boost it was the same, but once I shifted I notice a pretty big lag. May not be very noticeable but its much better to recirculate.
Andrew

maybe your car is a freak car, but when i vented with my AT, it wouldnt shift right. When it did, it kicked about 3 times before it go it gear. That's weird.

but with an auto when it shift's you dont let off the gas their for the bov doesnt go off so in between shifts i dont see how it could make much difference having it vented or not. i preload it to 15psi and doesnt lag at all, when driving in the city it tends to lag a bit especially when it is cold. But at the end of the race when i do let off my A/F gauge reads rich for a couple seconds but the car still runs fine doesnt bog or nothin. i got another question for you guys, what are some symtoms of a cracked exhaust manifold. thanks for the help :thumb: :laser:

Well 1g's auto have smaller turboes and injectors. Plus you have different cams. That is probaly your problem. Even with the boost set on your 13g its not as good and proven as a 14b. Plus you may be overboosting and getting timing retarded if you're only the stock 390 injectors.

correct, the 1st gen auto's came with a 13b, pretty much the smallest turbo you can get, then next on the list is the 2nd gen auto's and 5speeds that of course came with the t-2-small, then of course the last and best stock turbo for dsm's came off the 1st gen 5speeds and that of course is the 14b

i am not even going to get into the venting thing.

What are your 60 ft times??? That has alot to do with you performance at the big end. Alot of poeple just put there time and ask what is wrong. We dotn have enough info to answer. Post your whole time slip and let us know the conditions that night. Was it hot, humid, how ong did you let the car cool down. These all afffect your time.

That's all true...
I have a 91 Talon TSi FWD 5 speed manual and my best time is 15's flat (15.000) in the Monterrey Mex Speedway (550Mts.above sea level), at 9ºC, 85% Hum... more less... and almost with the same set up and mods as I-luv-em-all... Last week in the same track my best time was a little bit higher (15.27) because of the climate (I suppose)... the climate last week was at 21ºC with 75% of hum...

I test my car every week in the same track, and alot of conditions affect the 1/4miles time of the car.... if the temp is higher your times most be highers too (almost all the time), the same thing happens with altitude (higher alt, higer times).... and so on...

Good luck
