JayHass what boost where you runing and what kind of fule ? and what did you take out to get 400lbs ?

so far i was able to get 13.38@100Mph, at 15~16psi on 93 just wondering what you where diong ?

Well, seems to me that I have a pretty good set up going to get some really good times like some of you have. I have no idea what the car runs yet because I just installed my 14b last weekend and I just did my 550 injectors today. I haven't gotten a chance to tune yet but I will tonight. Should I tune for 93 octane since this is my daily driver or should I tune for 100 octane which is readily available or even 110 octane at the gas station next to my job?

Air density is your friend.

i have to diasagree. i ran 13.2@102 3 weeks ago in my almost completely stock 90 awd. all it has is full 3" o2 eliminator, 190 fuel pump, and an old style afc. this was at 4200 ft. i had some minor stuff wrong with the car but now that that is taken care of i feel some high 12's in my future.

I know i dont know alot about the pocket logger but someone had to reply to his question. I just gave the info that i knew about it. But since I was misinforming why dont you inform us instead of just makining it aperent that i didnt know what i was talking about. also what did i say that wasnt true about water injection. Im not startin any trouble but if your gona crap on me ya better wipe to.

and another thing you could try is alchohol/water injection to get a more dense charge.

While WI does lower intakes temps a bit, the main benefit is actually in the way it "buffers" the combustion event. These water particales get inbetween the fuel and air molecules buffering, or slowing the progress of the flame front. As each molecule is converted to steam, heat energy is absorbed. Since water has 6-7 times the latent heat capactiy of fuel, it can absorb much more heat than fuel. Since heat is the cause of knock (so is pressure, but heat and pressure are the same thing, according to the Ideal Gas Law, or PV=nRT), this will reduce the tendecy to knock.

it will help cool your air to around 35-60 deg F.

On what turbo? What IC efficiency? What ambient temps? Blanket statements like this are inapropriate ;)

Running high boost from a 14B make a ton of heat.

Everyone is quick to say this. And it is true in a sense, but is all relative. I made my best 14b passes (110mph) at 24-25 psi. Everyone told me that was too high. Just means they ran slower than me ;)

I didnt mean to be a dick in my previous post, but I see so many posts like that in the dozens of forums I peruse. I would have elaborated more in that post, but after so many years, and 300 messages a day, I just dont have the time or energy anymore ;) Hope that helps.

If you can get your hands on a Supra mkiv SMIC then you should forget about heat soak.. i heard 0 knock on a supra plus A+ cooling over stock smic.

Dont hear things, try them ;) I used a MKIV IC and it wasnt much better. In fact, my traps never went up with it. Some people swear by it, I wasn't impressed. Thankfully I was able to trade it for a CF hood ;)
