09' NC/SC shootout dates and changes.

Ok, guys. I know it's early, but I have some of new ideas for this year and I want to get an early start. These are the dates we are looking at for this year. I wanted to get a date the first or second week of October, but it's already booked up. These are the closest dates we can get. I also didn't want to schedule anything too close to August because of the National DSM Shootout. Let me know ASAP. The sooner I get the date, the sooner I can get things moving.

I am in the process of building an awd talon so I think nov. 1st would be better. Due to funds.

Yes. I had considered moving it to Zmax; however, Rockingham is the most central location as far as people coming from NC/SC. Plus, we already have a relationship with the track from having the 08' shootout there.

As for other details, i'm still working them out. I will post when they are confirmed. I posted this early so that we could decide on a date. Poll closes at the end of the month.

Not good, I need to find a new head. Turns out the head I had on there was already below the min. factory specs when it came to clearances. So the machinist said if he resurfaced it again, there would be a good chance of bending valves even if the timing was dead on.

Last year we just hung out for a while then went down to the track and raced a bit. Well I broke down but that is beside the point. Even though I snapped my timing belt I still had a ton of fun. We had the track to ourselves for a few hours before they opened it for test and tunes. A few of us even saw a world speed record broken in Nitro RC cars.

how long does it last? When i lived in NC i was only 5 miles from Piedmont dragway. They had import nights every thursday, but we were quickly overran by all the domestics.

It depends on when they will let us in the track. But basically all day, I think we got to the track around 1:00 and I stayed until 10:00 or so.The night we were there was just your basic Test & Tune, so there were imports and domestics(We had 2 staging lanes to ourselves the whole night).

Why is that? No one will hate on your NT. If I remember correctly there was some dude there racing his Lumina.
