As the title states, can i used 1g rods with Evo IX pisotons on a motor bore .020 over?

Evo pistons are 85mm just like DSM pistons. If you bore the motor .020, then you need a piston that is .020 over.

You might be able to buy EVO replacement pistons that are 85.5mm though.

For the cost of those, I'd rather put up the extra $200 and pick up a set of new Eagle/Wisecos.

Im trying to save as much as i can, so i am also looking for a used set of Eagle/Wisecos. The evo just isnt a bad deal at all, and i like the compression ratio. But would going with used piston and/or rods be a bad idea?

I wouldn't run a used set of OEM pistons because their so cheep new.

Rods however - you should be able to find a set of 1G Bid Rods online or at a junk yard for pretty cheep. 2.0L 6bolt N/A's have 1G Big Rods in them.
