  1. 1G 8 second holset powered talon.

Is the gear ratio the same between the auto and manual 3kgt rear-ends? Is the 3kgt gear ratio the same as the dsm gear ratio?
  2. 1G 8 second holset powered talon.

Are you able to still use your dsm driveshaft with the 3kgt rear-diff? Do you use 3kgt rear axles or dsm axles? Just wondering because I can definitely see that being an upgrade for me in the future. Nice passes
  3. 2G AEM EMS s1 no spark

Quick update..I got my series 2 today and installed it. I now have voltage at the two coil wires (pin 10 & 23). I also checked for spark at the spark plugs and everything checked out. I guess the series 1 coil drivers decided to go out in my series 1 box.
  4. 2G AEM EMS s1 no spark

Yea a lot of people are saying I probably pinched a wire. The only things that were touched as far as wiring goes was the speed sensor, PRND trans connector, trans solenoid connector, and a battery ground. I made sure that everything was in a safe location before reinstalling the trans. I was...
  5. 2G AEM EMS s1 no spark

Just a quick update from yesterday. I got another mfi/mpi relay, plugged it in….still no spark. Just ordered a brand new series 2. Now I need a new tune since the series 1 tune will not work with the series 2:notgood:
  6. 2G AEM EMS s1 no spark

Just put a whole new setup in my car. Had the engine idling absolutely fine. Once the engine warmed up I noticed a leak between the auto trans and block. Disconnected a couple trans plugs and removed the trans. Attempted to fix the leak then reinstalled the trans. Ever since the trans was...
  7. 2G Yoke sticking out of transfer case

First off I have 300m upgrade on my transfer case. The driveshaft is a DSS hd. I know J_Heath was having an issue with his 1g like this. My yoke is sticking out 1.5". Is this acceptable or is it something that I should pursue in getting resolved? Attached are a couple of pictures.
  8. 1995 eagle talon esi (evo 8 swap)

I remember seeing a mivec engine in a 2g at last years shootout.
  9. Buschur COP/Dynatek Arc-2/AEM EMS wiring

Planning on starting the car on Saturday. With my current setup is there anything special that I have to do for the ems settings? I know that many people use the invert cas option on dsmlink.
  10. 96 Eagle Talon TSI AWD: The Gold Digger AKA Rust Bucket (Resto Mod, Wire Tuck, etc)

I completely redid my chassis and engine harness and I want to use f6 split braided sleeving. The large pack of wires that goes through the firewall looks bigger than 2". I cannot find any f6 sleeving larger than 2". What was the largest size you used?
  11. 2G Power Transistor wiring

The blue w/ black striped wire goes from the PTU connector to the coil pack connector. The coil pack connector is triangular in shape and is a 3 pin connector. The coil pack connector has a black w/ white stripe, blue w/ red stripe, and blue w/ black stripe...
  12. Shift solenoid connector

If you can check I would appreciate it. I am doing a completely fresh build so this will be one less thing I can rule out if I have trans problems.
  13. Buschur COP/Dynatek Arc-2/AEM EMS wiring

Would the tach output wire from my arc-2 box be another acceptable location for a tach signal?
  14. Buschur COP/Dynatek Arc-2/AEM EMS wiring

Okay I traced the white wire from ptu to the ecu and it goes to pin 58 and to the big white connector which I am assuming branches off into the gauge cluster. So the ecu will be emitting a tach output through this wire correct?
  15. Shift solenoid connector

Are these wires out of order or are they supposed to be mix-matched? This is the black connector on the trans that goes to the valve body shift solenoids. The red and red, and blue and blue match-up, but the orange and gray do not. Can someone look at theirs and verify that this is correct or not?
  16. Buschur COP/Dynatek Arc-2/AEM EMS wiring

Pin 58, the white wire coming from the power transistor unit. Not sure what is used as a tach output from AEM
  17. Buschur COP/Dynatek Arc-2/AEM EMS wiring

I now have to wire up my auto trans harness. One of the wires needs to be tapped into the rpm (tach signal). Using the aem to generate the tach signal, which wire would I tap into? Would it still be pin 58, the white wire coming from the ptu, or the crank signal wire?
  18. Kyle Henny's Drag GSX

Why are you trying to beat ARP wheel studs in? All you need is a bunch of washers and a m12 x 1.5 nut. You place the washers over the stud once you run it through the hub and tighten the nut down. Tightening the nut down will pull the stud into place.
  19. 6 bolt in a 2g pilot bushing/crank bolts

Yea thanks for the reply. When I had the flexplate bolted on I checked for clearance with the rear main, starter plate/bolts, and converter bolts to starter plate. All I had to do was shave off excess gasket from the pan below the rear main. Everything else had decent clearance.
  20. 6 bolt in a 2g pilot bushing/crank bolts

De-burred the pilot bushing and re-installed it back into the crank with the step facing the trans as that is the proper way to install the bushing. The stepped section actually allows the crank bolts to be tightened down without interfering with the pilot bushing. The other issue I have right...
  21. 6 bolt in a 2g pilot bushing/crank bolts

After forgetting to put on my starter plate :ohdamn: I removed the flex plate. The pilot bushing has apparently been notched into by the crank bolts. Any idea why this happened? The washer type flange on the bolt is what dug into the pilot bushing. Can I just de-burr the spots on the pilot...
  22. Buschur COP/Dynatek Arc-2/AEM EMS wiring

Okay so single spark is only going to be used to set the base timing. Once that is set then I can put it on restrike and that is it. Thanks a lot for your help. I really appreciate it.
  23. Buschur COP/Dynatek Arc-2/AEM EMS wiring

According to the directions, the dip switches should be set as follows:Rising Edge Restrike -or- Single Spark Crank InputLooks like you were right about the crank input. Do you know whether rising edge is right or not for my setup? And the instructions were not very helpful on the...
  24. Buschur COP/Dynatek Arc-2/AEM EMS wiring

Okay I got it now. The stock engine harness coil pack plug has the switched 12v wire along with the two other wires. It is okay to cut the switched 12v wire from the stock coil pack connector to use to connect to the orange 12v wire going to the 16 pin arc-2 connector right? Will that blue...
  25. Buschur COP/Dynatek Arc-2/AEM EMS wiring

I understand to follow the directions in aempro for the tach output and that I do not have to open the aem box. The atdsm writeup says to wire coil trigger 1 of the ignition box to ecu pin 10. It also says to wire coil trigger 2 of the ignition box to ecu pin 23. What I am still unsure about is...
  26. Buschur COP/Dynatek Arc-2/AEM EMS wiring

For some reason I thought I had one of those male 3 pin triangular connectors, but I did not so I ordered one. I do not have an MSD that was from the excerpt of that other persons thread. Okay, so I am supposed to take pin 10 and pin 23 which are the two signal wires from the ignitor connector...
  27. Buschur COP/Dynatek Arc-2/AEM EMS wiring

I already have the pnp harness. Is there anyway I can just splice into the pnp harness? I was going to eliminate the ignitor as I do not currently have an ignitor and I also have no where to mount it. I do still have the connector and the wiring. Nothing on my setup is stock anymore. The dynatek...
  28. Buschur COP/Dynatek Arc-2/AEM EMS wiring

Thanks for the reply. I have a whole spare wiring harness so I can snag a triangular connector off of it. I figured that the 12v and ground thing was right I just was not 100% sure of how it worked. Now the next issue. I am not using the stock ignitor. The two signal wires from the ecu pin 10...
  29. Buschur COP/Dynatek Arc-2/AEM EMS wiring

Okay lets make this a little more simple. The bold line is the first issue.Buschur COP         Arc-2 Connector B (connects to oem coil pack or COP in my case)Green - 2&3-------------------------White - Coil output 2 Yellow -...
  30. Buschur COP/Dynatek Arc-2/AEM EMS wiring

I am super confused as to how to wire this combination up. I have looked at multiple diagrams from all kinds of different sources which only made me more confused. My Buschur COP has three wires which do not have a connector on the end of them. Red- 12v, Green- 2&3, Yellow- 1&4. On the...
  31. 2G owners running fuel cells

I am going to be cutting my spare tire well out and replacing it with 1/16" aluminum sheet. I plan to use some kind of weather-proof sealant as well as rivets to hold the sheet in place. What kind of rivets should I use? Steel or aluminum? I obviously want to prevent any kind of corrosion. My...
  32. 6 bolt waterpump pulley solution

Yea so basically if I wanted to run it how I have it now, but with the alternator moved over a little so the belt could include the water pump, it would end up hitting the frame rail. I am definitely interested in your pulley. I will shoot you a PM. Great idea on this. Simple, but effective...
  33. 6 bolt waterpump pulley solution

Okay you guys have me confused. I have a 6 bolt and a 2g chassis without power steering. My motor is still on the stand, but I have installed my saturn alt and jay racing reloc. kit. My belt is currently mounted around the alt. and the inner rib on the crank pulley. My water pump pulley is...
  34. 93 Eagle Talon TSi AWD Auto

What is the black plastic circle piece on the front of the trans for? It has a connector I just do not know what sensor it is.
  35. 2G Bell Housing Holes?

    Alright cool thanks Tim.
  36. 2G Bell Housing Holes?

Are these two holes supposed to be there? The first pic is of the hole which would be on the top of the bell housing, but I have the trans upside down in the pics. The second pic is of the bottom of the bell housing. I tried to include the front roll stop mount so you have an idea of where it is.
  37. Valve body separator plate dents

I was using a hammer to hit the aluminum plug to expand it. The hole was countersunk to provide for a better fit for the plug. So if those dents do bridge a passage what affect will it have on the trans or it all depends?
  38. Valve body separator plate dents

Will these small dents on the valve body separator plate cause any problems? This is the larger of the two plates and the dents are on the bottom of the plate (opposite side of what the instructions show). They are not deep, but when I rub my finger across I can definitely feel them. I used a...
  39. AWD A/T Mount issue

The only difference I know of is between MT and AT. Is there any chance that the new mount you got could possible be a MT mount? I always end up receiving the wrong parts from parts stores all the time because of many different reasons. Just something to consider.
  40. Removing interior metal (Weight reduction)

I do not have a target weight for the car. I just wanted to decrease the weight to make hitting my target ET easier. I think anything below 2500lbs should be fine. Not sure on the weight of the cage, probably around 100 pounds? It will be a chromoly 10 point. The car is being built to perform at...
  41. Removing interior metal (Weight reduction)

I am removing all of the unnecessary metal from the interior of my car. I took a few pictures of things that are questionable in regards to removing. I will be installing a 10 point cage, but I just want to make sure that removing some of this metal is not going to cause structural problems...
  42. Resolved 2G Connector/wire identification

Update: I got everything done and exactly how I wanted it. I went ahead and removed the fuel tank differential pressure sensor which got rid of the green w/yellow, blue w/white, and the black ground. Next I tackled the yellow w/blue, gray w/blue, yellow w/red, and gray w/red. Just to verify as...
  43. Resolved 2G Connector/wire identification

In regards to the connector under the seat, I saw your post that listed pin 1 through pin 6. However, no where in the thread does it state what exactly the left over wires are for. It does say that the green/yellow, blue/white, and black wires from that connector are for the fuel tank...
  44. Resolved 2G Connector/wire identification

My car is a 98 gsx 5-speed. My first question is for the following pictures:What is this? The white thing with the wires going to it belongs in the black box that is bolted to the chassis. It appears to be a relay, but for what? It is on the chassis side of the harness. My next...
  45. Precision Industries Torque Converter

This is definitely odd. There are plenty of W4A33 guys on here running the precision industries converter. I hope precision still makes them because I want to run one on my car.
  46. Project 8 seconds/2,000lbs 2g Talon TSI Utah

I would like to do a tubular front end on my car as well, but I think it would be quite difficult for me as I do not have a pipe bender. Did you buy that front end tube pre-fabbed? Are you going to add a front roll stop to it?
  47. Project 8 seconds/2,000lbs 2g Talon TSI Utah

What cams are you big turbo auto guys running? I am going to be starting a similar build within the next couple weeks. I will be using a 3794r, auto, and probably nitrous to spool. I know I want a kelford 280, but I don't know which one to pick from. The motor will be spun out to 9500+. There...
  48. Tubular rear subframe - Input needed

I am very interested in one of your 2g rear subframes. I sent you a PM and an email, but I have not received a response. When you get a chance can you please respond to my PM?
  49. 3rd gear wot suggestions

i didnt even realize i put rich. i meant lean* up the map. Boost is right where I want it. I am using a innovate lc-1 wideband for my afr. I am running 20psi. I know how to adjust the timing but i dont know when. When should i start to add timing? Do i just leave the maf clamp thing alone?
  50. Can't get past 18psi

no the ebc was set up the correct way. the problem was most likely with the settings. in my opinion it is just a lot easier to turn a screw.
