- I am the 4th owner and have only put about 500 miles on the car. Owners 1-2 were from the same family who bought it back in '97 and only used it as their sunny weather cruiser. It was then traded into the Pignataro Volkswagen dealership and purchased by an employee as a gift for their daughter, but the daughter never got her license on her 16th birthday. The car sat garaged for a year before being put up for sale -- I bought it the next day after it was listed.
Honestly, it was an impulse buy because I have never seen one of these 2Gs in such good running condition, stock form, and low miles. Kind of a mid-life crisis purchase, and this car really transports me back to the early 2000s car scene!
Originally, I planned to lower it and go for some aggressive wheel fitment all around... but after owning the car for only a brief period of time, it's become really apparent that it's just not a great fit for our family car needs. So, it remains unmodified, and I'm hoping to sell it to a DSM enthusiast who will really appreciate the car!
