Quick! fan temp switch?

I don't know where this would be posted at but I have a bad fan switch is what I've been told on by 96 eclipse. I got the new one today and went to replace but something isn't right. The old one looks nothing like The new one if I am looking at the right switch.
Is it the switch on the top under the thermostat in this picture.

yes the top sensor is the temp sensor

Ha I figure this out I bought a fan temperature switch and I needed to get a coolant temperature switch.

But other question, where would the fan temperature switch go?

the fan temp switch you've bought is for 1g and goes in the bottom of the radiator

Yeah, I spent about an hour at advance till I figured that out. But does the 2gn have one?

I'm not a 2g expert but I think that 2g fan are controlled by the ECU

Correct me if i'm wrong

The 2g is controlled by the ECU and it doesent activate until approx 205 degrees. i wanted mine to come on earlier than that. I bought and installed this:

ELECTRIC FAN TEMP CONTROLLER SWITCH THERMO PROBE KIT 38 | eBay

It works great. Kicks the fans on at about 192 degrees.
