Crazy Picture. Seen it happen. I was at the track with Victor Brant when he did that on his GVR4. I got lucky enough to miss him doing that in the EVO.

Rally wheels take a lot of beating bouncing and flying up and down.. Id think that is how it shattered.. still hard to believe that can happen..

I've seen a lot of Rally / Auto X Vehicles do that. Well not a lot, 2 in person. Heard of several. The wheels heat up and cool down very rapidly, very often, and get a lot of side loading. The stress gets repeated enough and then one day BAM. Usually only happens with people who drive the piss out of the car, alot. I think Victor was running those wheels for at least 2 years. So 2 AutoX Clubs TAC/TVR and a Rally group so total of 6 "seasons" before the did that.

Those look like just regular wagon wheel styled street wheels instead of the beefed up rally style wheels.

I prefer to use naquada coating on my rims for boost in horsepower plus it is amazingly strong material. I mean it is what they make stargates out of afterall.
