+1 for all the above....a six speed tranny and more carbon fiber parts for both 1G and 2G that actually help with weight reduction would be amazing.

Am I the only one that sees no point to a 6spd tranny? 1st gear is already short enough and you have to shift right away the rest of the gears seem to be really good.
Maybe you guys aren't making enough power yet to notice.

I don't think a 6 speed would help any unless you're looking for a major overdrive 6th gear. These cars could use a taller gear for cruising on the interstate at 70-80mph. Maybe some people just want another gear instead of getting the taller 5th that is available?
I agree 1st gear is painfully short. I would love a taller 1st gear that is stronger than stock. The evo 3 3rd and 4th gear will get you tighter ratios if you want. Then slap on a taller 5th and you'd have the perfect transmission

The EVOIII first can also be installed which is 10% taller.

Yes the sixth gear would be nice for the highway. That's all I'm after. I guess a taller fifth would work as well.

i think a slightly taller 5th gear would be the best option if you do a lot of highway cruising

I think that most of us aren't thinking acceleration when they are suggesting a 6th gear. I just don't like being near 4500 RPMs when I am cruising at 90+ for hours on end. At half that I would still have plenty of power. Maybe its just cause I grew up with a Jeep that red lines at 5000, but I like to keep the revs lower.
Whatever happened to the 25% taller gear they used to make? Would anybody else be interested in one of these?

There's no reason to be going 90+, especially for hours on end.
If you want to be at a lower operating rpm just get the EVOIII 5th gear.

Yep, I would be interested in the 25% taller 5th gear, but some friends of mine tried looking for it and had no luck....
Edit: Well the Evo3 5th gears isn't that much taller either, it's like only 200-300 rpm difference...

I end up doing a lot of driving through the middle of no ware so yes, there is a reason to be going that fast for extended amounts of time. Also, I don't want to enter something like silverstate when that would mean even higher RPMs for a pretty long amount of time
10% isn't really that much. It seems like there are enough of us looking for one that some one would make one...

I've had a couple cars with 6 speed trany's in them, 6th gear is the only way to go on the freeway on the way to work.
Compare 2200rpm to 4k rpm on my dsm.... yeah, 6 speed ftw.

Most people don't think that way, they just assume that with a 6spd you get better acceleration. Just do the evoIII 5th gear and call it a day.
Nobody is going to spend 2k + on a tranny for an extra gear.
