I got the afcII and installed it, kind of a dumb way but i didnt think about it till afterwards, i spliced all the wires in, but anyway i got it it, started the car up and it bogged down till it stalled. so i got real confused and all my instructions are in japenese so i couldnt read them, then i called apexi and they told me i need to set the initial settings so i did, and then it ran fine. except when i disconnect the afc? why doesnt my car run now when the afc is not plugged in? does this make any sense? thanks for the help in advance.

umm.........(nevermind) you have no fuel system mods all your correction values should read zero.

why the hell would you unplug your afc? for one thing your airflow meter wire is cut in half and your car goes into limp mode with the afc powered down. leave your afc plugged in and do alot of reading before you try to go faster.

i have had the thing installed for a month now and still havent touched it because i have been reading, second of all, all the wires are still connected i just unplugged it at the harness from the afc to the afc wire harness, so all the wires should still have a good connection i would think and my car should, i would like run fine without it and the reason i unplugged it is because i had inspection and the mechanic i took it to was nutty so i didnt want him giving me a hard time about it. am i wrong about the wiring though?

If the SAFC is unplugged, then the wire ends are just hanging there in the air, and that isn't very conducive to good connections. You need to undo the airflow wiring, or you need to plug the SAFC back in.

Are you sure that the SAFC is even wired correctly?

Are you sure it is set up right, with the right airflow and throttle and cylinder settings and stuff?
