Can anyone comment on these wires ?

They claim to have 300 times hotter spark because they have built-in capacitors. They are pricey too ($170 a set) I did get them for my GSX, but I haven't had a chance to compare them to more traditional aftermarket wires.

They work out really nice so far (I can actually feel the power increase, especially low end), what I don't know if it's in any way harmful to the car, or is that not different from traditional wires at all ?

Spark plug wires, especially Nology, do NOT increase horsepower. It amazes me that people buy into that 300 times hotter spark creating a better combustion process. These wires end up arcing worse than Magne-craps. Buy some NGKs and save your money in the future.

Each wire is grounded and I hadn't had a problem with arching...

I never said they increase HP, I said you can feel the difference over stock (Revs up faster).
Either way, it was a present, but I feel bad for a dude who spent $170 on something that hasn't been praised by actual users....

Mine arched after steam cleaning my engine but that would happen with any plug wire. My understanding is that the don't perform any better than the Magnecor which are around $50-60$ cheaper. I also heard some of the claims made by Nology cannot be substanciated.

Again, we learn from others who have paved the road which helps our cost to benefit ratio or cost per HP gained.

I do agree, trying different things can have advantages but the 1G and 2G's have been but through the ringer and there are definite logical cost effective paths and the other "this is cool" not so fast path.

If it's free it worth a try.
I've had Magnacore on every vechiles that I have owned and it's been great.

i will get another set for my current car too.

I heard some with nissan have trouble with Nology's.

I'm currently using the NGK plug wires. They cost about half as much as the Magnecores, and from what I gather, lots of people use them perfectly successfully. I'm guessing they're not as good as Magnecores for people that use performance ignition systems, but that's also just a guess. They've worked fine for me for a long time.

I know the standards are NGK and Magnacore, but I just happened onto the Nology site and what do I see. They now make a hotwire set for the Turbo model. Just wondering about the plausibility of the "increased spark" theory. Do they help out turbo cars any? My brother has them in his '99 SI and they really smoothed out the powerband, but that's also coupled to a MDS box and coil. $0.02s anyone?

IMHO, it's a gimmick. We dyno'ed them against some of their competitors a couple of years ago and they actually caused a loss in baseline horsepower on our test car.

Unfortunately, I no longer have that shop (dyno included) and I didn't keep the result graphs, so I can't offer to show you.

That's what I thought. One of those too good to be true. I guess it was the MSD setup on my brother's car that brought out the power. Thanx guys, just needed a little reassurance from the community. It's also great to see that people have actually tested and have hard evidence rather than the normal I think or it should. Thanx again guys!

HOTWires are a capicitor type wire (kinda like a cap you buy for car audio) what they say it does it store energy up in the wire and releases it in 1 hot burst for a brighter spark. I can verify that it does that as we have one of those demo things in the shop with the wires on it and a coil and you push a button and it shows the HOTwire compared to a regular wire. THe spark is brighter and hotter just by the color and intensity. I took that damn thing appart and re configured it every way possible for hours to figure out if the thing was jimmy'd or not. And it's not those wires do really make a hotter spark. I'll take a pic of it if you want with my digi cam.

Now does that really make more HP? Not really that I can tell and I have felt them on many cars.

Also MSD Ignition stands for Mutiple Spark Discharge meaning it does exactly the opposite in theory of what a HOTWire does.

Draw your own conclutions don't read on the net for answers however I have used them on 3 types of cars and my butt dyno couldn't tell a damn thing, plus their not cheap.

Anyone ever seen the most expensive set of spark plug wires out? Nology Hott Wires. Anyone have them? Do they really make that big of a differance?

they cost that much for a reason, they are the best. At my work we have a machine that shows the difference between stock and nology Spark output, believe me you can see a huge diiference even between Nology and ACCELL+toucan NOLOGY is the best:thumb:

They cost what they do because of marketing and profit. There's no question they are good as other wires but they don't provide gains in line with their cost difference over the NGK (3 to 4x) or Magnacore (2x) wires. They look cool but not worth the cash.

The wires are ok.. u feel the difference but not much... its not really worth the 160 i spent but if u wanna get every little horsepower u can get go ahead and get em...

If you have any performance upgrades on your DSM and you have very strict Smog/Emissions laws in your area, it might not be a bad idea. The Hotter Spark will help you more efficiently burn all of the mix, reducing the Amount of non-combusted Hydrocarbons going through the tail-pipe.

I heard the best are MSD wires and iradium NGK plugs. I got that from a performance 2g, eclipse. some guy working at auto zone...
