Have been looking at gear ratios on our trannys and the N/T has a much better ratio for road racing.
I have not read of any one going to this tranny and wonder why?
From what I have read they are supposed to be weaker, but it may be due to the ratios that they may be more prone to fail. Also a lot of guys have not had any problems with them,
This would be for a track only car. and could be either a N/A or turbo motor.
Looking for reasons why not to use it or if it would be a good idea.

Thanks for any input.

2gn/t engine is completely different than the turbo, which means the tranny wouldn't bolt up without a custom bellhousing.

Unless you're talking about the 2gnt convertible with the 4g64... but I'm not familiar with the 2g world so I'll hold off until someone else speaks up.

Like mentioned, the 420a trans will not bolt into your TSi. The only option is the 4g64 transmission from a Spyder GS. It is geared lower to take advantage of the 4g64's low-mid range power. They aren't as strong as the turbo transmissions and the gearing is so low, in a car with any decent power, I think you would run out of gear way too fast. You would be shifting it like a 6-speed without the benefit of close ratio gears.
