Its been a few weeks since I took the old clutch off, now Im installing the new ACT 2600 kit, I need to know for sure which way the clutch disc faces. one side is completely flat, the other side has the center section extending out, I put the side extending out facing the transmission.

That is correct. The flat side goes against the flywheel. The sticking out side faces the tranny. If you put it in the other way around your gonna damage a bunch of stuff because the clutch hub with the torsional springs in it (the side that sticks out) will rub against the flywheel instead of the friction plates and you will wreck your clutch and flywheel, maybe other things as well.

Thats what I figured but I thought I would make 100% sure before I tackle the transmission, Thanks!
