So I've got this problem.....

My palm IIIc's battery took a crap and I lost MMCD. I have the backup file but can't get my palm to sync with my laptop. I'm running vista and am trying to sync via USB connection, as my laptop doesn't have a serial port. From my recent experience and what I've read I'm waisting my time trying to through a USB port. I don't know any way to get MMCD back on my IIIc. Anyone know what operating system will hot sync with the IIIc, or know another way to get MMCD onto the IIIc? I'm out of solutions, hopefully someone else has run into this problem. Thanks for any input....

It would be nice if there was someone in the area with MMCD already on their IIIc, that way I could just meet up with them and transfer it using the IR on each palm. Anyone in the Pensacola area?

I have the same problem i cant get my palm to sync with my laptop, but i have the software on my laptop only my laptop wont connect to the datalogging cable i have. something about the com3 port is busy....???? anyone?

I'm running Vista and can dock/sync. However, it is a pain almost all the time, even using the below techinques...

1. I had to disable my Blutooth Seral Ports, since the adapter has a hard time finding an open one. The Blutooth takes up 10 COMM ports and serial adapters try to use any of the 10 Ports.

2. Plug in the serial device to the adapter BEFORE plugging in to your USB Port.

3. USE A KEYSPAN 19HS ADAPTER. It is the only adapter DSMLink will accept, and is the only adapter that has worked for me for my Palm m105 and Palm IIIe syncing, and works from OBDII to my Vista Laptop.
