Tranny ? - Specifically Counter Balance

Got my new OEM Stage 2 tranny from Shepard Racing today. Problem is that the counter balance on the shif linkage or levers is broken. Called them and they said you can run it without the counter balance with no adverse effects. He said the only thing is that you might "feel" in the shifter - whatever that means.

Anyone else heard of this.

Thanks, Defiant. That thread helped a lot. I think this tranny is going in. I'm sure as hell not going to send it back and wait 3 weeks for a new one. Especially for something that doesn't seem to cause problems.
