Hi all, currently I'm stuck in a hotel 500km from my home with my car in a mechanics parking lot. :( Let me give you the skinny. I was driving along, ABS light came on so (this being a first time occurance) I pulled over. Few hours later I pulled into a gas station and the car started bucking as if I was tapping the brakes. I shut of the car, waited, and started it up and that's when I found out the rear wheels were locked.

After searching on DSMtuners I realized it was my Transfer Case.

So my question is, where can I buy a T-Case? (new or used) Or what can I do to get home with the car?

Thanks, Tom.

Um can anyone tell me where I can get a new transfer case? With all the threads on the topic I'm sure someone out there has had to acquire a new t-case. Please help. Thanks, Tom.

Buschur Racing, JNZtuning, the local dealer, there's a lot of places if you look around.

Make sure you get a 95 t case and not a 97+ because the ratios are different and it will kill your transmission.

Search for a 95-96 T case in your drivetrain model (manual or auto)

Search the classifieds here, DSMtrader, ebaymotors, etc... Look for cars that are being parted out.

Hey I got good news. After letting the car sit overnight it un-seized itself. I rolled it into the mechanic's bay and they topped it off with gear oil (it was only at 25% of capacity). I managed to drive it home and now I need to fix it permanently. So what do I do? Do I get a whole new transfer case? (Will a new one leak too?) Or do I get the leak repair kit and fix it myself? Any advice for me? Thanks, Tom.

Didn't Mitsu have a recall on ALL of their DSM transfer cases for this very reason. Take your car to the dealer and have them inspect the transfer case. It has been well documented that the transfer case seal has been known to leak and they should replace it for free. If the dealership finds that the seal was leaking and the transfer case is damaged, then they may replace the entire case. It has been known to happen. This safety recall was ordered by the NTSB to prevent what happened to you. But since you are from Canada, I'm sure they will try to tell you that they can't do anything about it.

Actually I called and apparently the recall for the T-Case on my car was already performed. Which is strange cause it's leaking again. They told me, because it was already done once it is not covered a second time.

Now luckily the guy (dealer) who sold me the car gave me a free warranty with Global Warranty and it's covered. However, I need to get an authorized mechanic to do the work for me and they'll cover the costs. But I need to know what to tell the mechanic, and more importantly I need to find a solution where the T-Case wont leak again. Is there a after market T-Case I can get that is better then the stock one?

Thanks, Tom.
