Anyone had their 7bolt crank turned?

I was woundering how well the 7bolt crank holds up when you have it turned , I spun a bearing and I didn't know if I was better off replacing the crank with one that doesn't need to be turned or buying a new one or turning my current crank... it would only have to go 20 over .... any info about this subject would be nice...

First off, you will be going .020" Under (in bearing size).

It really depends on a few things:

*The condition of the crank,
*The machinists personal opinion,
*The machinists price to do the job (magnaflux, undercut, micropolish, balance, nitride or cryotreat, and clean)
*What are your expectations of the motor after rebuild?
*Are you going to be using forged internals? Or are you doing a stock rebuild with replacement parts?

I have seen cut cranks work just fine in race and street applications.

If it is going to be more than $700 in machine work alone for the crank (which is REALLY high), you are better off purchasing an Eagle crank in whichever configuration you are going to run (2.0L or 2.4L crank). They are currently going for $700.00 or so at alot of vendors (including Ebay).
