I have been looking for a REAR SWAY BAR for my 2G GSX for awhile now.

http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=152299

I learned that the ST bar doesn't fit with 3" exhaust.

I wanted an RM bar but they only come in sets and cost $300.

I found GSport.com had an ADDCO RSB for about $165 shipped.

I ordered it and it arrived very quickly however the ADDCO bar has the same problem as the ST bar. Its not fitted for the exhaust so unless your exhaust hangs VERY LOW its not gonna fit.

This is just a heads up for everyone else who was wondering if the ADDCO bar fits.

Enjoy,

I dont think it will fit with stock exhaust unless you beat it with a hammer.

My 3" exhaust is tucked up under the car.....I would say its a perfect install....its as high as you can get it and its still an inch in the way of the bar in both directions.

that pretty much sucks.. so who are we goign to get to make a proper sway bar that can fit with the exhaust.. also is there a way to just put some more tension on the stock unit to stiffen it up? im gonan work on some idea's after i fix this CEL

You dug up a year-old thread just to suggest that putting a swaybar under tension would make it stiffer?!

The two basic ways to make a swaybar more effective are to thicken it or shorten the arms. Trying to stretch it won't do anything useful.

would you suggest i make a new one on an already fragile tooners.. LOL and only after i posted did i notice it was a year old.. what if i was able to move the mounting point hmm so who makes a decent product then?

I have no problem with people digging up old threads -- it's often better than starting a new one -- but I do have a problem with people suggesting that a swaybar will be more effective if you "put some more tension" on it. Swaybars are never supposed to have a preload and stretching it is useless. As I wrote: the two basic ways to make a swaybar more effective are to thicken it or shorten the arms.

The only way I can think of to get someone to make a new bar that goes up and over a large exhaust (a la RM's bar) would be to get a large number of people together for a custom order. Or just wait for the Asian rip-off artists to copy the RM product. But I don't see why you should wait. Buy a set of RM bars and start with only the rear one. Odds are, you will soon install the front one, as well, when you find that your total roll stiffness is still too low and/or the snap-spins get on your nerves. Otherwise, you could try to sell the front to someone who autocrosses in Stock (since they can only use the front).
