Yes we are feeding it from the cylinder head. You can get the line from aero quip frangola vibrant carries some an fittings.

Did you mean Jusmx141?

Just figured I'd ask :p

Looks great, hopefully will be seeing you in a month or so for that meet.

Shop looks great too, jealous!

I was under the impression that the head doesnt produce adequate oil pressure for Holsets? Or is there a difference from the DSM to Evo oil pumps?

Im not trying to sound like a dick or bag on the build at all, please understand. Im just trying to help you not have to replace a turbo based on my readings and findings.

Per the Holset faq: "5. The minimum oil pressure when the engine is on load must be 210 kPa (30 lbf/in2). Maximum permissible operating pressure is 500 kPa (72 lbf/in2) although 600 kPa (88 lbf/in2) is permitted during cold start up. Under idling conditions pressure should not fall below 70 kPa (10 lbf/in2)."
http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/turbo-system-tech/362444-holset-turbos-faq.html#post152124696

And based on this guys thread with a gauge at the head location, 7-10psi at idle and 45 under load you COULD run a feed from there but risk a chance of starvation. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/tuning-engine-management/415159-aem-oil-pressure-gauge-sensor-head-location.html

I also found this on FPs site, about 1/4 way down.. Forced Performance Turbochargers

Like I said based on this info it could be fed from there but seems a bit low for a Holset application. Aslo maybe the Evo has a slightly different oil pump?? That Im not sure about, if so this info is irrelevant.. :idontknow:

No no harm taken I love feedback on all of our threads.

I know there is a huge debate about oiling and such and im not saying we are 100% right either. i will be running it from the head the reason for this is just based off prior experiences. We have ran a lot of holset setups on DSM's and Evo's and have ran them at both locations with never 1 oiling issue.

Here are few more pics of the turbo completed.

ENJOY :)

Mmmmm I do love that orange!! I will also definitely keep an eye on this thread on how your turbo is holding up. Im starting fresh with my build this season as well, coming from a head fed 20g to a t3 t/s Holset. If I dont have to buy yet another oil feed line thatd be awesome!!

Right on, Get a build thread going so I can check it out. Thanks for the feedback.
