How am I supposed to know how far to pound them in? I've put on in but it's not flush with the hole it goes into (backside of bearing area), should it be flush? Please help as this is the only thing holding me back from starting assembly of the rest of my shortblock!

Thanks!

Because I am reusing the stock pistons, I don't want to mess around with their cooling. So your saying make them flush because right now heres how they look-

I don't want to bang them all to hell when they are already in far enough.

I would just get rid of them, cooling is what mitsubishi tells you, but you don't really need them. You wouldn't want them to fall out.

I'm not getting rid of them.... The motor in stock form was designed to work with the piston cooling oil jets. And I'm using stock pistons, so they're staying. I have searched all over hell, but cannot find anywhere how to know how far to punch these in?

I've seen pics of the other side sticking up maby 1/4 inch? enough but doesn't show the OD bore surface of the squirter.

I'm thinking the one part in the pic should be flush... But i don't know, that just makes sense to me. Otherwise wouldn't it be blocking oil flow?
