im getting sick of my head for multiple reasons(lifters, oil leak etc.)

i have a 95 head pulled out of my old gsx and im planning on getting brand new components...cams/cam gears/valve/lifters/etc..
so heres my question. how the heck would the CAS work?? i have done some searching around the forums and i cant seem to find the exact answer i need.

can i move the CAS to the other side of the head since im getting new cams anyways or do i have to drill it....my big order is coming in monday and i want to clear out any confusion.

any help would be appreciated :D

you will not half to do any drilling the 95-96 cas is under the intake cam, simply take off the intake came gear and remove it, you will half to remove the plug on the 95-96 head were the 97-99 cas would go. thats all the modification needed..

First off, the word is "have" not "half". Secondly you can use the head with no problem but why swap heads if you're getting new components? If you're going to get new lifters, cams, gaskets etc... Then there is no need to even worry about changing the head itself, just use what is on the engine already and put your new components in it. :)

well this head has a exhaust mani. stud stuck in ### the last owner snapped it off and plus, the middle thread for the exhaust manifold stud is stripped a little bit so theres a oil leak from the galley. plus, my old head is ported and polished both sides.

one more question...im going to be putting in 272s on both intake and exhaust sides.

is it necessary to get adjustable cam gears or can i just use my stockers..
i dont really need FINE tuning

and thanks for the input :D

You can use stock springs, and stock gears with 272 cams if you want.

Always someone around to be a douche. Personally if you already have the ported and polished head, id go ahead and use it, along with a new HG and some ARP's as stated above 272's are fine with stock, depending on your millage id go ahead and replace everything anyway.

my old engine was entirely overhauled with new stock internals like 9000 miles ago before i got T-boned. i have a vent valve ### the engine mount moved back and snapped the timing belt into half and cracking the cam gear :(

thanks for the input i might just get the whole engine swapped
